Soooo we finally headed to the wine country of central Texas to add to the celebration of my bday weekend. BeckerVineyards was high on the list of recommendations and they certainly didn't disappoint. The grounds are pretty and well done. I would've liked to have been in the larger building where I believe they do their normal tastings, but they... More

Having lived in Sonoma County and worked in Napa for many years, we were apprehensive to try Texas wines. On our weekend getaway to Fredericksburg, we stopped at Becker. When we arrived there were only a handful of tasters, many more came in by the time we left, our host continued to give us the proper attention even though busy... More

Great wine, vineyard and people. It's off the beaten path but worth the short trip off the main highway. Be careful if you use GPS as ours put us out in the middle of nowhere. Must not be uncommon as their was a sign that actually said, This is not the enterance to Beckers Winery! At any rate we found... More

We were a large party from Colorado, Idaho, Wyoming, Minnesota & Texas, visiting on a beautiful, crystal clear, cool fall day. We were there for a private tasting that occured in the semi-private room, away from the main tasiting room. Our host was patient, knowledgable and entertaining and the tasting and tour were very enjoyable. We loved the wine and... More

Becker Vineyards is a beautiful place to visit on a nice fall afternoon. Tastings (you get to keep the glass) and a variety of bistro food make for a very pleasant visit. You can also do a tour but usually we just go to sit, relax and enjoy the wines. There is frequently live music and you may even get... More

We love Becker and make it a point to stop in whenever we are in town. This trip, we did not buy any wine, but did purchase a tasting, as we needed to replace some glasses that we broke last year! Clay was a great host and had great information to share. We purchased some wonderful lavender products but did... More

Becker Vineyard was purchased by Dr. Richard and Bunny Becker in 1990 and opened to the public in 1996. They produce about 89,000 cases of wine per year. They own three vineyards (total of 95 acres) throughout Texas where they utilize the grapes for their wine. In addition, they pull grapes from other Texas vineyards, and some from New Mexico... Becker is one of the oldest wineries in Stonewall. Unlike most of the other wineries the buildings are not new and have the look and feel of old stone construction prevalent in the area. The buildings are not crowded together and the green grass with big trees offers many inviting places to drink your wine in quiet solitude. Even where... More

My wife and I visited Becker's on September 6, 2014. We did the tour and wine tasting and found the cellar was very interesting with the mesquite table and chairs. We had a mixed platter with pulled pork at the Bistro and it was excellent. The chef came out and visited with us for awhile which was nice. We joined... More

Perhaps Monday is not the best day to visit. Our server was disinterested and seemed more interested in moving us along than engaging in conversation about the wines and the vineyard / lavender fields. The tasting room was spacious and beautiful. It was decorated with many accessories related to Texas lifestyle and shelves were lined with wine bottles displaying their... More

Hello from the winery! Thank you for choosing the Claret! It is our fastest selling wine as well as a bronze winner at the San Francisco Wine Competition 2014! It also pairs well with a lot of foods (beef, dried sausages, hard cheeses, hearty soups...lots of delicious combinations!). We are sorry to hear your tasting room host/server was not more... More
