Having visited numerous wineries during our texas tour we found this one very expensive. The views were lovely and the staff friendly but for 3 tastings and one cheese plate between the three of us was $140. We usually buy a few bottles but we couldn't afford it here.

Thank you for posting this review, because if you indeed had just three tastings and an artisanal cheese plate, the most you should have been charged is $80. Please contact the tasting room with your receipt number at 830-644-2037, and we will review your charges. More

Thank you for taking the time to find our place. It is a little off the main highway, but has the advantage of the quiet and view. The mid-week is definitely the best time to come since there are fewer guests and one can take full advantage of the hospitality in the Hill Country. Please do come back! More

We were here mid-week, so it was not crowded. We did a standard tasting, 6 wines for $15. The sommelier who took care of us was obviously new on the job and did not really know anything about the wines other than what was already printed out on the menu in front of us. She was using a little cheat... More

Thank you for visiting, and I am glad that you enjoyed the Tempranillo and Moscato. I am sorry that your server was not able to add the kind of detail that you were looking for. We are always looking for ways to improve staff training, so thank you for your observations. More

We visited the Winery on a recent trip to Fredericksburg. We were not big fans of Texas wines but Pedernales Winery changed our view. My wife and I spent a pleasant afternoon at the winery partaking in a Sommelier wine tasting, that was worth the extra money. This award winning winery had some great options and we ended up joining... More

I am glad that we were able to change your opinion about Texas wines. We are currently doing Reserve Room tastings with a sommelier on both Saturdays and Sundays, so I encourage you to book in advance if you are coming back this spring. More

We first went here on a UT Club outing and have returned several times. Wine club is a good deal, and we've always found the staff friendly and inviting. I like the fact it is a bit off the 290 highway, and the views from the deck are just not to be beat. One of our favorite places to go.

Thank you for being a regular visitor to our winery. I hope you can make it out again this spring once the wildflowers start blooming. We will be releasing the 2013 reds and 2014 whites over the coming months. More

The first time we visited was in August of 2013. We were out with 4 other couples on a Jeep ride. We stopped in for some tastings and two of us became wine club members. Upon arriving back in Katy several days later, we both had hand written thank you cards and references to our "Jeep Ride" from Mike our... More

The tasting room deck offers a beautiful view, but the wine is over-prices and the staff are inattentive and rude.

I am very sorry to hear that you had a bad experience when visiting our winery. I would very much like to hear more about your experience, so we can add it to our staff training. Please contact me at wine @ pedernalescellars.com if you will. As for the price of the wines, we sell largely our higher end wines... More

Wonderful experience. A couple of miles drive off the main road (Highway 290) a few miles east of Fredericksburg. The tasting room is extremely nice and the wines are wonderful. But what catches your attention is the beautiful scenery. Enjoy a glass of wine on the deck or on the swing looking out over miles and miles of beautiful Texas... More

Award winning wines says a lot about the wine tasting at Pedernales Cellars. For those Tempranillo lovers; this is a must stop. The 100% Tempranillo was our favorite. This is another fabulous stop on the Hill Country Wine Trail if you will. The staff here was attentive and explained the wines very well. There is a lot of buzz being generated on the Tempranillo and it did not disappoint. The views here were equally as impressive if not more so. We got lucky as its been in the... More

Glad you visited on what sounds like a lovely day in the Hill Country. It is nice to hear from someone who appreciates Texas Tempranillo. It is a grape variety that does really well in the Texas terroir. We do offer cheese plates for purchase, but for those who want something more substantial we are very happy for people to... More
