Only had time for 1 winery stop this vacation, so chose Pedernales Cellars mainly because of its location - gorgeous farm country. I did the small flight and tasted a white, a few reds and their moscato. It was too hot to visit the outdoor patio, but they have a beautiful outdoor seating area and also have music on occasion.... Saturday was my second trip to Pedernales Cellars and the day I became a member of the wine club. Undoubtedly some of the best red wines I've had the pleasure of enjoying. I'm not a fan of sweet wines, but the Texas Dulce gets two thumbs up from all the sweet fans I know. Since my first visit, they have... More

Welcome to the wine club! We look forward to seeing you at events. I am glad you enjoy our reds and white port, Dulce. I am sorry that the club lounge was crowded when you were there. It is our intention to expand it in the future. More

We really enjoyed the experience, the wine and the view. They offer taste testing in 2 different areas. One for their casual wines and at a nice bar they offer there reserves and fine wines.

Thanks for taking the time to taste our wines and enjoy the view from our deck. Yes, we offer two tastings depending on the kind of experience guests are looking for. At the main bar, guests get to sample six wines that give a sense of the range of what we produce. In the reserve tasting, guests who desire a... More

Outstanding visit on a Sunny Saturday. The day we went there was a live band playing. There is also small cheese plates and crackers for purchase. The wine tasting is interesting. Best of all, you can enjoy a bottle of wine on the open deck under an oak tree. Some visitors also brought their own food.

I am glad you enjoyed your visit to Pedernales Cellars. You were lucky to be here on one of the sunny afternoons during this very wet spring. As grape farmers, we love the rain, but we also like the chance to enjoy the deck at the tasting room. Please visit again! More

This winery definitely merits a stop on your Texas Wine Country tour! You can enjoy your wine on the patio enjoying the breeze and some of the prettiest scenery around. On weekends there is live music. But we always choose to avoid weekend visits if we can, preferring the quiet serenity of the place. We belong to this wine club... More

Thank you for being a part of our wine club. Your support of Texas fine wine is essential to the continued growth of Pedernales Cellars, and of the Texas wine industry more generally. You are also making an excellent choice to visit during the week. When we lived on the property as a family, we loved to come out and... More

This is a great winery to sit on the patio and listen to live music. It sits atop a hill so there is a great view and breeze. The wine is really great too. This is one of my new favs when visiting Fredericksburg. The turnoff is about 7-10 min from downtown.

Glad you enjoyed our wines and the deck. There has been a lot of rain this spring, but when it has been nice, the view from the deck has been especially beautiful. Please do visit again! More

My wife and I toured many wineries on the Texas Wine Trail, and this place definitely had the best wine. Their Spanish style tempranillo red wine with the "long finish" was an amazing, new taste sensation that I'd never experienced before. Had to buy a bottle of it! The estate itself is very nice, a little bit off the "main... More

Thank you for taking the time come out to our place. I am glad you enjoyed our Tempranillo. Dave, our winemaker, really strives to get the best finish possible on the wines. It is unfortunately illegal to ship wines to PA, but if we could, we would love to have you as part of our wine club. More

I did the Reserve Tasting with two friends on a recent Saturday and was really impressed with the wines and the tasting. The Reserve Tasting is more expensive than the regular tasting at $25 per person, but you get to taste the reserve wines and are lead through the tasting by a very knowledgeable sommelier. The wines here are more... More

Having visited numerous wineries during our texas tour we found this one very expensive. The views were lovely and the staff friendly but for 3 tastings and one cheese plate between the three of us was $140. We usually buy a few bottles but we couldn't afford it here.

Julie K, Owner at Pedernales Cellars, responded to this review

Thank you for posting this review, because if you indeed had just three tastings and an artisanal cheese plate, the most you should have been charged is $80. Please contact the tasting room with your receipt number at 830-644-2037, and we will review your charges. More
