The big, friendly winery dogs prevents the two greeter cats from entering the tasting room. It's a relaxing sit-down tasting experience with adequate pours and informative descriptions. We enjoyed the hospitality and the gentle winery dog. There are serviceable wines competitively priced by Stonewall standards.

The first thing that you'll see about Woodrose is that it's different from other wineries. No need to stand at the bar and be rushed through your tasting -- this is a "restaurant style" tasting. You get to sit down and your server will bring each wine to you to taste. You get to pick from one of four different... More

We visited 10 wineries over 3 days. This was the worst of the lot. One wine tasted like vinegar. Service was slow and lackadaisical. Go somewhere else.

My date for the day and I took a pleasant Sunday afternoon drive. We stopped at the Woodrose Winery for a taste of their wines and spent the remainder of the afternoon enjoying pleasant conversation and some tasty wines. Have a cheese plate, sample the wine and say hi to cork. We will return when we are not in a... More

It feels far away, but it is close to Hwy 290. Excellent Steward, loving golden retrever, and a broad selection of wines. A very pleasant stop on way into Fredericksburg.

The one unique thing about this location is the sit down service rather than the typical wine tasting bar at most other places. Property doesn't have any outstanding qualities and unless you're drinking a wine that the hostess likes there is very little interaction. The white wine tasting here weren't to our liking, too oakey and buttery for all the... More

We made this our first winery to visit along Texas's 290 Winery Trail near Fredericksburg, Texas and were not that impressed. Maybe if the private party wasn't going on it would have been a better experience. We were just not that impressed with the grounds and the set up. Though they do offer seating for the the wine tastings, the... More

They do things different here at a Woodrose Winery, which works but they always seem to be doing "private parties" which are wonderful things, but it sort of makes a distraction to your wine tasting experience. The "sit down" tasting is great, as well as the different "Flights" you can choose to taste the wines, but there isn't much to... More

We are always here for whatever special dinners that they put on, but I had to comment on the 4th of July. The BBQ was amazing and the fireworks display was a display I've seen no where else! This is a must do. If you aren't a member, shame on you ;) Join and spend lots of money, the owner... More
