Twice this spring, I went on a small pontoon boat with 5 other guests to find dolphins with Scarlett Colley, naturalist extraordinaire. She knows the individual dolphins like friends and they approach and play around the boat. With encouraging claps and woos the dolphins respond by swimming under and around the boat. On the first trip we saw two dolphins...

Center managed by longtime Island residents and naturalists with a wealth of knowledge and experience. Go on a dolphin watch (and add the birding tour) with owner Scarlet Colley. Most likely one of her dolphin-loving dogs will accompany you! :-) Scarlet can name each dolphin by their characteristics, and bring them to the boat with her enthusiastic calls. A tour...

First off, when you walk in you are told they have to get a donation from you. A donation is when I give of my own free will, what they are doing is charging an entrance fee. I felt like I was in a run down pet store. It stank. There was a stingray, but in too small a tank...

I own a house on the island and spend a good deal of time on the island and have frequent visitors. Before I knew better, I took a tour on one of the large tour ships that advertise "eco tour". We were out for 2 hours and I saw 1 dolphin in the distance but they did drag nets and...

The 2 individuals who wrote the negative reviews the last two days have no idea to what they refer!! To them...you have never gone with Scarlet on her pontoon to communicate with the dolphins...and granted you will not see a dolphin in the Sea Life Center, as they are not on display in tanks! Make a reservation with Scarlet to...

We stopped by here on our way out of the island. The people that worked there were very nice, but it was small and seemed more like a pet store than a research and nature center. There are no dolphins to see here. Ironically, my kids favorite part was petting the bunny they have. We enjoyed the sea turtle center...

Totally enjoyed our experiences with the dolphins, guided by Scarlett and her pup on the pontoon boat. Clearly--the dolphins trust her, and her respect for nature, and their world is shown by the way the creatures interact so playful with her and her guests.

Capt. Scarlet Colley, who calls herself the Dolphinwhisperer, took a group of five Oklahoma wildlife rehabbers out on her boat to see the dolphins in the Laguna Madre Bay in early May. Several of the adult dolphins had babies in the spring, and they put on a show for us! Mothers and babies were swimming side-by-side right up to our...
