Having been to the original schlitterbahn in new braunfels, this place is average in comparison. No exciting slides, the water coasters are neat but not thrilling. The lazy river was the best, with a Rapids section and it's neat that when waiting in line you don't have to get off your tube. Bought season passes for next year because the... More

Thanks for the visit! While the New Braunfels park is the largest of the Schlitterbahn family, many folks also prefer the beachfront property on South Padre Island and it's laid back, casual feel. The park entertains the most Guests on Saturdays, so visitation on other days is always a good way to have more time to enjoy more rides. W... More

Most things were closed during the week. Service in the 1 restaurant that was open was poor at best.

Sorry you did not enjoy your stay more and while the indoor waterpark is open on weekends (and when school is out) during the "off-season", many Guests prefer the tranquil getaway season where the temperatures are ideal, the Island is less crowded and they can enjoy our Seaside Grill and Shrimp Haus (which are both open year round) in true... Schlitterbahn has been a family tradition for about three years, now. The kids love it. When we go to South Padre, we drive by Schlitterbahn on weekends and the parking lot is overflowing. We ALWAYS go on a Tuesday or Wednesday and are there waiting when the park opens at 10:00. We have found that we can get through every... More

The hotel resort check-in was at 4pm, but when I called to verify we had to check in at 7pm to avoid them charging us for that entire day of the water park. When we got there, they tried to charge us extra because we had 2 extra children, although we didn't exceed their max rooming capacity. I don't mind... More

This is a great water park for everyone. Spend the day floating the lazy river or go on one of the many tube rides. I would recommend bringing a cooler with drinks and snacks. This is expensive entertainment, so buy tickets online. Get there early to stake out a place to eat lunch and keep your cooler. Also, don't forget... More

Recently brought my 15 and 11 year old kids here, and they had a blast. It was quite crowded, but the staff manages the numbers well. My wife and I did three or four rides, and then sat on the 'beach' with a drink, while they enjoyed the freedom of riding the rest. All of the rides but one are... More

This was a pleasant park. My three boys enjoyed the day. It is a good thing they allow access to the hotel side for non-guests, or it might be a little disappointing. Will probably go back next year. Buy the tickets on-line, they are cheaper that way.
