Enjoy a wonderful visit and sighting of nature in action in the area. During our two + hour walk with volunteer birding guides Rose Ann and Jerry, we saw 20 + different birds, numerous butter flies, and one lazy alligator. A great way to education yourself about various sea birds.

The birding and nature center is awesome. We really enjoyed it. Plan for an hour or two. $4.00 per person, plenty of parking. Pristine building where you can climb to the top deck with splendid views of the island. Lots of boardwalk to walk to see nature and birds. We saw lots of local birds, crabs, fish. It's a beautiful,... More

This little slice of Paradise makes ordinarily inaccessible marshlands easily available to just about everyone. Hundreds of yards of raised boardwalk wind through tall grasses and reeds where many species of birds are to be found by the patient and keen of eye. A handful of shelters along the way offer seating and protection from the elements, so even those... More

The heated viewing tower is something to behold. A very informative place to visit and of coarse it has many shore birds in marshes. The boardwalks go into the water so it is easy to get close up photo's.

I completely recommend this place not only for "birders", but for children as well. Kids will totally enjoy this place, I know my 7 year old did. Not only will you see different types of birds but other wild life that roam the area, which may include an alligator. Walking to the top of the top deck area on the... More

We spent the better part of a day at the center. Our enthusiastic guide, Robert, was a wealth of information and without his keen eye we would never have seen half of the birds. The staff at the reception, Ann, and in the gift shop were helpful and friendly. Loved the observation deck and the artwork throughout the center. Definitely... More

We enjoyed a guided "bird walk on the boardwalk". Although it was cool and windy, it was still a worthwhile outing. Prior to our tour, we watched a movie on sparrows which was very good but a little long. The gift shop area and 4th floor viewing area were well done. Great for all ages.

I always enjoy the Birding and Nature Center. It's a great place to go walking and see the birds in their natural habitat along with the native alligators that have taken up residence there also. No worries, they can't get to you! I encourage you to go to the museum and look around. You will find this on the second... More

I thought it was fun to see the birds out in their natural habitat but I wished I had a little more information about the birds as I was looking at them. We saw a variety of ducks and cranes and there was rumored to be an alligator but we must have missed him. It was fun though!

We say a lot of different birds. We say turtles and fish as well. The day was chilly, but we still enjoyed spotting all the different birds.
