Bird sanctuary

Enjoyed the educational aspects of the Bird Sanctuary in particular the inside portion. I learned many new things about Texas climate, geology and wildlife.

We didn't see too many birds. The walk was long. It was super humid outside. Go when it's not so hot and humid and it would probably be a lot nicer.

We love to get here early when all wildlife is more active and enjoy the relaxing walk on the well built and maintained boardwalks that lead to areas to observe birds, alligators and aquatic life. This is well worth the $5 per adult. Go early!

Loved this place! $5 to walk and see different birds and even an alligator. Good place to just have a walk and relax and kick back. This is conneceted to the Laguna Madre Nature Trail which is free but the entrance is by the convention center

My wife and I went because of all the rave reviews. We exited confused. Yes we saw a couple of birds but none that were especially pretty or fascinating. They were simply birds. Same with the fish. Plain fish, minnows, and catfish. BTW, no alligators but maybe they are dead now. We did see a couple of blue crabs which... More

Only $2 and the most tranquil place on South Padre Island. Not much to see except the bay, lots of fish and some birds - i guess the best time to do this is the fall migration season - it's just too hot right now.

Lots of birds. Even saw some crabs. Watched the movie and it was ok. If you have time do it. The walk is really cool. Even if you don't like birds it is a nice walk and you see stuff you won't see anywhere else.

As a long time birder, I can't believe that I had never been to the South Padre Island Birding and Nature Center in all my visits to SPI. I am so glad I made it this time. I really loved my visit. The facility is so beautiful! Serene and nicely designed to look at the birds spending time there. We... More

Very interesting exhibits in south Texas bird and other wildlife. Elevated trails just long enough. Very hot day but still worth the visit.

This place is absolutely beautiful! I had a very nice chat with the lady at the front desk as soon as I got there! It is a great place to learn about the ecosystem on the island. It has an observation deck with great views or the bay and the gulf. It has a fun scenic walkway that leads you... More
