It was an amazing experience. You could see different types of animals during the walk to the center. They have different types that aren't even by the beach side. So make sure you check out this awesome place when you visit south padre island.

This is the free version of Island Birding and Nature center, exactly located next to it. Entrance is at the conference center. But we're disappointed, need improvement, dirty, the trail need to be maintained. The walkway was covered by tree and its hard to get through it and kind a scary especially if you are with kids. This is the free version of the birding center and it's next door. Not as well maintained though. Lots of wildlife and less crowds.

we combined the trail and nature center in one day. Easy paths to follow and we saw a lot. The information on the trail was helpful.

Love seeing the different species of birds in the Laguna. A nice walk with a peaceful setting. Located at the northern tip of the island and very easy to get to next to the convention center.

Nature lovers and especially bird watchers paradise. Many types of birds that are not seen in other areas of the country in one habitat. If you are lucky you might see a gator.

Lots of birds and saw gators in the pond. Nice blinds for easy viewing of the birds without disturbing them. Paved walks for easy walking. Saw many Harrier raptors.

Take your time on a pretty day and walk the cat walk over the water and you will see birds you've probably never seen along with alligators, turtles and fish.

We saw all sorts of birds and 2 gators peaking out of the water at us! SO FUN! The nature trail is long, and it was hot, but there is shaded seating if you get tired along the way!

A lovely place to take your time and walk along the nature trail. Lots of bird watching. The museum on the second floor was quite impressive too. We ended up staying there a lot longer than we thought which was a pleasant surprise.
