A nice free way to decide if you would like to go next door to the birding center. For free... You can't go wrong. Worth a bit of time.

This is a very nice, free nature trail. The elevated boardwalk is nice, the views are beautiful. We tied this stop in with a visit to the whaling wall, which is at the trail's entrance, and some Frisbee in the large convention center bay access area.

We are not avid birders, but enjoyed our visit here. The other birders were very willing to answer questions. Boardwalk is nice and overall this is a pleasant, peaceful visit.

What a nice free thing to do on the island! Walked out to the sound to watch the sunset. Saw lots of cool birds but also got a few mosquito bites. No one else was on the sound side while we were there. Trees as you enter are lovely as well. Wish we had arrived with a little more daylight... More

My wife is an avid birder and we came here for the birding. I've never seen such a variety of colorful birds - especially warblers - in such a small space. We went there every day and could have spent hours and hours there. If you love birds this is a must see.

We have been to South Padre many times and we always make time for this. If you enjoy bird watching this is the place to go on the island!! Plus it has great sunset views.

Board walk over waterways that host water fowl and other birds that have migrated from south America and this is their first freshwater source after flying many miles. Several boardwalk trails over several waterways.

My wife and I enjoyed the small walkway located beside the Conference Centre. We were able to see flamingos, egrets, red winged blackbirds, humming birds, gulls, and several others we could not identify. The walkway is quite short, consisting of two arms extending less than 1/4 mile in total. It would be suitable for children and seniors looking for a... More

Located just south of the SPI Convention Center, with parking at the Convention Center, this complex of raised, wooden walking trails take you over the tidal area of the Laguna Madre.
