Beautiful!

Beautiful and well maintained park! Even though we were there in the heat of the summer, plenty of shade!

This park has gorgeous views of the Guadalupe river as well the old power plant. During the day, there is hardly anyone there so walking along the river is really peaceful and relaxing. It's a nice place to take the kids for a picnic. There is a really large golf course as well. I don't play golf, but it looks... More

It is on the Guadalupe River. We had no reservations so we had to move from the pavilion to an area outdoors with picnic tables. At least the weather was good.

There is a winding road that follows the Guadalupe River (on the left), with Starcke Park Golf Course on the right. River-side picnic tables line the road. Golf is reasonably priced and it's a nice course, with green having been redone a year ago. There are volleyball and tennis courts free to the public. A doggie park is adjacent. On... More

What a refreshing area to visit! The water and park area was picture perfect. I was able to shoot some great nature pictures here but it has an ambience that you just have to experience in person. I love this park

Pretty quiet during the day. Nice paved area to drive or jog. Has some pavilions, hiking trails, right on river. Has places to park near water. Some areas border a golf course so its not uncommon to get car or windshield damage from a stray ball. May even get konked on head.

Most of Max Starcke Park is a golf course. There are many picnic tables with great views of the Guadalupe River. Some picnic spots have a nice view of Saffold Dam as well. My husband and I put in our canoe near Saffold Dam in Max Starcke Park and paddled 2 miles northwest to the next dam then back. The... More

This is one lovely place to gather the extended family for a reunion or just hang out with your sweetie as the summer evenings come to a close. Stay near the dam and you have some natural water music to accompany your musing or your courting. The golfer will enjoy the course and those looking for an amble have a... More

This park is simply beautiful. It is across from the Max Starke golf course, one of the best in Texas. The park it self, is along the Guadalupe Riverand has been well planned out for "all" to use. For the nature lovers, there are paths to walk, through the wooded ares along the river. There are places to bar-b-que,picnic,enjoy family &... More

Good golf course to play. Club house cashiers not very friendly. Nice and green for most of the season. Clubhouse can use more variety of equipment for purchases.
