We went for an art class at the winery. It was really fun and of course the wine was good. When we left they had a band outside. Would have loved to stay.

We went in January, it was too cold to walk around outside. We did the tasting and waited for the tour while we drank a bottle of wine. We brought a little picnic lunch with us.

I attended the safari themed girl’s night out event and it was really nice. We were greeted upon entry by a very friendly lady where we signed in and received our band and tickets. From there we walked outside to where several vendors were set up. The table decorations were nice and from what I could see of the vineyard... More

Since I live in Houston I'm always on the lookout for good wine or wineries within driving distance. Haak Vineyard and Winery is south of town in Santa Fe. Just a few miles off Highway 6 it seems to be in the middle of nowhere. I like that. You get a real sense of country. We went on a Saturday... More

We have visited the Haak winery on several occasions, mainly for the Saturday or Sunday evening music events. They have a very nice pavilion which is not bad for dancing, and the entertainment is typically really good. It's a place for families as well as a gathering place for friends. They have a good selection of food and snacks which... More

We decided to give this little winery a visit on a recent Monday morning. We have visited wineries all over the world, so really weren't expecting anything remotely drinkable. We opted not to take the tour, but did a tasting. The young lady doing the pours had little to no knowledge of the wines, grapes, etc. When we inquired as... More

Heard about this from a friend. A group of us (4) went to check it out. Cost is reasonable, $10 for the tour and tasting of wines. Interesting and a nice facility. Glad we went. I'm not much into wine, but it was still fun.

Being from the Missouri wine country, we always love to try other regions wines and compare wineries. The Galveston Island Visitor's Guide is wrong in stating that the tours and tastings are free for the Haak Winery, as it costs $10. Somehow this concept gets to us when you think you have to pay to taste wine that they want... More

Who would have thought one would find a vineyard in Eastern Texas? This is a small family run business with a tasting room and a small tour (both of which can be done for $10 / person). We were offered four wines and a Madeira. I was expecting something just above inexpensive grape juice but as I say above, a... More

A favorite of my wife and I. Whenever we go to Galveston we swing by Haak and pick up a Cabernet and usually another nice wine. Quality wines, and pretty venue!!!
