We took our niece and nephew, ages 4 and 6, to the Nature Center. They were fascinated by the exhibits, especially all of the snakes. The center's director was very hands-on and allowed them to pet a skunk, a prairie dog, and a snake. She had a story to tell about many of the animals and how they came to... More

Great place! We arrived right when they opened and the animals were eating and active. It was a happy morning with the birds talking and the other furry animals rearranging their homes. The employees were nice and the place was well kept. Looks like they do a lot of educational things there too. I enjoyed our visit including the chickens... More

We had a really nice time touring the facility. It was small but quaint. All the staff were super and really interested in making our experience as interactive as possible.

I don't know how long this nature center has been operational, but it was a very educational experience for my boys. They were able to see animals up close that they had only seen in books, and were able to learn so much. The staff was courteous.

Lots of snakes, turtles, lizards, spiders, iguanas and other creepy crawlers. Knowledgeable tour guides, some who like wearing snakes around their neck.

Inexpensive place to visit. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I loved the way they interact with the kids and involve them with the animals. They let our two 3 yr olds carry food bowls for the animals, told them about the animals and answered all their questions. Recommend visiting here! They are closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Close off the loop that encircles the city. Hop off and head down Knickerbocker street. Enjoy the lake view on the drive. Though not the best of lakes....but is waterfront. Children always enjoy the nature center as well as us adults. A great family outing. Staff are always helpful to answer questions. Also, check on the docks along the way...where... More

Go early as it can get really hot later in the day. Limited collection but very interesting. Good representation of the local area.

I always love visiting the nature center for a fun, inexpensive adventure. However, it was a new and unique experience having attended a birthday party there. The staff were so friendly, knowledgable, and entertaining. There aren't many birthday venues in San Angelo that offer fun for the whole family...but the Nature Center definitely does! If you're looking for a good... More

This is a small nature center. There are many small animals on display. There are also bobcats and a porcupine outside. I asked them where the animals came form. Some were exotic pets that the owners didn't want anymore. Others were injured an cannot go back to the wild. I was also told some of the snakes were caught in... More
