It was beautiful but extremely windy the day we went. Hard on the baby so we couldn't stay long. Next summer we will get to hang out!!

Cleanest beach I've ever seen. A Blue wave designated beach. Volleyball, kids playground. Even saw a dolphin almost close enough to touch.

My family and I love, love, love this Beach. Our young son and grandchildren have so much fun at the beach. It's clean and the facilities are we'll - maintained. Can't say enough great things about this location!

Suggest going very early in the morning. We made it to town about 1pm on a Saturday. I wasn't sure we were going to find a place to park. Once we made it to the beach it was packed but there was plenty of space to go around. I did not feel crowded or like we were invading anyone's space.... More

Very windy the day we were here. Lots of space on the beach even with it being a summer weekend and very busy. Sand is a mixture of sand and pebbles that is easy on your feet. Very easy to swim in bay as the water is no more than waist deep for at least a few hundred yards off... More

This is a man-made beach, and it's very nice. The water is very shallow, so it's safe for the little ones. There are not enough covered areas, but other than that, it was great. Be sure to bring your own coverings and chairs.

This is a small beach and we were able to walk the entire thing. Many families were around and everyone was nice and comfortable.

If you are in Rockport and really don't feel like driving over to South Padre island to get the full sandy dunes, frothy surf, wheeling seagull experience, there is an alternative. The little spit of sandy terra firma here is great for families with small kids as others have said. There is some sandy beach for the tykes to play... More

I know a lot of people compare it to Port Aransas, but this is a beach park in a bay not a beach on the actual gulf. So yes, the waves are smaller. They keep it very clean and raked, sometimes when the seaweed comes in they need to get on that better; but other than that not bad.
