We have gone to Rockport beach for years when we are in town and take our kids when they were young and now our grandkids when they are visiting. Quick little beach to go to without the drive across the ferry.

We spent a couple of afternoons at the Rockport Beach in late April. As the other reviews say, yes--it is very calm water, and yes, you do have to go out a LOOONG way to get in past your knees! I think this would make it a fantastic beach to bring your kids to. We set up our umbrella and... More

Be prepared for the wind. The trees are even slanted due to it. On a positive note, the huge crab and Rockport sign was really neat to see.

This is a great beach to hang out on. It was clean and well maintained. We don't have kids but I think this beach would be good for families. Wish we lived closer so we could go more often. Well worth the $5.

My Bride and I walked the beach and had a fun time talking and just being together. This is a good beach watching the children play and build sandcastles.

If you need a little sand between your toes, try this Rockport spot. Great for a walk early morning or on the daytime. Shallow but fun for relaxing. Easy walk to refreshments for families too.

I'm talking about the little free beach near the Blue Crab statue. WE loved it. Tiny hermit crabs walking along underwater, so cute. Just a nice relaxing place. Right next to it you can pay a reasonable fee to go into a groomed beach with pavillions, restrooms, etc. You can WALK or BIKE into it free. If you are in... More
