Don't miss the beach

great for small children ... You can wade a long ways out. Much calmer water than the Port A beaches.

The beach is always well maintained and clean. The waves are small so my kids (3-6-9) all enjoy playing in them. There are good restrooms and playgrounds as well.

Beach is clean and nice but it really feels like a bay with very little water movement and kinda stagnant. This good for familys with young children. Watch out for the guard shack attendant, he is kinda like a big kid in charge of the kiddy pool letting authority go to his head. He doesn't use common cense reguarding access... More

This beach is the safest beach to take children. The water is shallow for quite a distance so dangerous rip tides are not an issue. The only problem is when jellyfish invade--watch for them as they can deliver a painful sting. The small entry fee allows Rockport to keep the beach in pristine condition. The restrooms are also always clean.... More

Right in town, picnic tables under shaded shelters, only drawback is pay for parking. Perfect for children or old folks, No "surf".

Unless you go south across the short ferry to Port Aransas, this man-made beach is the closest thing around to a sandy beach. Has restrooms, picnic shelters. Because it's on the bay, waves are generally gentle, so good for children. Fee to enter but can walk on beach if you park at the south end before the fee kiosk.

There is an admission fee: $5/day or $15/year. The gate closes around 7 pm. It's very clean, and very pretty.

Nice walk looks great for families when hotter. Great facilities. Plenty of space. Convenient and lots of parking.

This is a great family area with little or no wave action. The beach is clean but we always take a bag to carry out any debris that washes up on the beach. Park your car at the gate and walk in and you don't have to pay the $5
