Easy access beach with shade palapas, tables/grills, and bathrooms. Easy wading, plenty of room. Not a fine sand beach, go farther south...

The Rockport beach in Rockport, TX is the perfect little beach. It has picnic benches, clean beaches, thatch umbrellas & the pavilion to change clothes & shower off. They also have facilities to rent for parties & special events. The charge of $8 to get in and is good for all year is a steal of a deal. Close to... More

We had been told this was one of the best beaches on the Gulf. Went there and was going to pay the fee with our dog. A large sign and the person at the booth said we could NOT bring our dog to the beach even leashed. She said it was because they have an active rookery. The was a... More

The beach is always well maintained and clean. The waves are small so my kids (3-6-9) all enjoy playing in them. There are good restrooms and playgrounds as well.

Beach is clean and nice but it really feels like a bay with very little water movement and kinda stagnant. This good for familys with young children. Watch out for the guard shack attendant, he is kinda like a big kid in charge of the kiddy pool letting authority go to his head. He doesn't use common cense reguarding access... More

This beach is the safest beach to take children. The water is shallow for quite a distance so dangerous rip tides are not an issue. The only problem is when jellyfish invade--watch for them as they can deliver a painful sting. The small entry fee allows Rockport to keep the beach in pristine condition. The restrooms are also always clean.... More

Right in town, picnic tables under shaded shelters, only drawback is pay for parking. Perfect for children or old folks, No "surf".
