Family of 5. Stopped midday to see. It was closed for lunch from 1-2. Glad we came back to see. 3 young children, 12, 7, & 4, able to climb stairs without any issues. Is hot and humid at the top, but they do warn you. Only a certain amount of people are allowed at once, which is great, otherwise... More

It was June and very hot but the climb was worth it. Great view!! Staff was helpful and friendly. Price was reasonable. Definitely recommend it to anyone visiting South Padre Island

It was kind of neat to climb the top of the lighthouse. Although it is 75 long and twisting steps up to the top. There was some neat historical information on the grounds surrounding the lighthouse. Not recommended for those who have a hard time walking, as a staircase was narrow and winding

Lovely day to stop here. Didn't get to climb the lighthouse, but did enjoy going into the museum and talking with the young man inside. Told us so much about the area, he's something like 5th generation Port Isabel. Could have listened to him all day, I think...

Extremely hot inside lighthouse. Having the balcony level closed makes it hotter. The view from the top is nice, but being glassed in it is scorching! Scary for young children. Save your money and wait it until the balcony is reopened.

See the title.....nothing more...nothing less. The lady collecting money acted like she could care less. Fiddled on her cell phone. I could have saved the 30 mins I wasted walking up and back down.

I always enjoy learning about the history of a location. It was worth the climb to the top of the lighthouse as well.

We took the Wave bus here and didn't go inside the lighthouse. However we walked to the nearby docks and saw a bunch of dolphins swimming around in the ocean. Seeing the dolphins was the best part of our trip. The dolphins were on the first section of the dock. Go See Them..........

Very fun view from the top of the lighthouse of the Laguna Madre and causeway. Fun climb up all those stairs.

Bring your walking shoes if you want to walk to the top. Even on a cloudy day there was beautiful views. If you are in the area, it's worth taking the quick self-guided tour.
