I remember this lighthouse when I was a young boy 50 years ago. It is still amazing. The tour is quite amazing and the view will give you a different perspective of Port Isabel and SPI.

At 4:55 was told by the keeper they closed at 5. She turned away 3 separate families. Arrived next day, our 5 year old determined to make the lighthouse climb. While waiting along with another family we had to bare witness to her interaction (with whom we figured to be her husband being relieved from his shift) which was rather... More

We are stopped spending money for entrance fees at all trivial locations and this one we did not go to the top. Just no reason. Great on the ground for a photo opt and you can easily see the bay from the ground level so why go up a steep set of stairs that you have to pay for such... More

Great views from the top. This lighthouse is nestled in the small town where restaurants and shops line the street.

It's smaller than you think. You walk up some very small, narrow steps and walk down again. It's too hot to linger, not a lot to see once you're up there. It makes a good photo prop, but that's it. I don't recommend spending the money on it.

I did not think I would be able to climb to the top, but we made it. It was a lot of fun and you could not beat the view. The stairs are very small and steep, so it is not for the faint of heart. Lots of fun.

A great spot to stop on the way home from South Padre! We stopped for a brief visit after dinner and took some beautiful photos and enjoyed the small park.

Looked forward to visiting our first lighthouse during our visit to South Padre. Wasn't much to it just stairs to the top and a great view. Spent $5 for the family to go to the top and it was extremely hot. The balcony was being renovated so only 6 people at a time were allowed. The gift shop only offered... More
