We went to the State Park to spend time at the beach before we could check into our hotel. There were signs about an undertow if you got to close to the jetty. It was a nice beach, no seaweed. The restrooms and showers were nice. It wasn't crowded. People were trying to surf, the waves were nice. We had... More

I guess the price is good and they do have the basic services and are pretty close to beach but there are much nicer places... They are basically a large parking lot with hook-ups.

Enjoyed our time at the beach ... Enjoyed the sand and sun. Beware of under tows ... Never seen warnings anywhere about them but it was bad. Seaweed was pretty bad too

July is a good time to be there. It wasn't too crowded, and the shelters were sturdy and good for shade when we got tired. I appreciated the roomy changing stations/ restrooms.

Overall this place is a bargain for the money. Few restaurants that I noticed but there is a relaxing overall atmosphere to be enjoyed by all family members. Bring a cooler being the store are high dollar and little as for selection and no major chain store to buy from. One can rent beach motorized buggies for a reasonable price.... More

We were here on July 17, 2012, and the seaweed is very bad. it's not as bad as it is in North Padre Island, but still it's gross. it is hard to enjoy swimming when u r surrounded by seaweed that cuts at your legs. having the shower room was very nice though. There was even hot water in the... More

Clean and well maintained, this park is high on my list to return to. The water is clear and the sand was, for the most part, clean. My only wish is that the camper spots were closer to the beach or that there was a walkway that made it easier to access than driving (or walking) to a parking lot... More

Love the horses. Driving on the beach can be a problem if you don't know how to drive on sand.
