Spend a Day at the Beach

It's true, the shower area needs some TLC. The beach is lovely, though. Even on a Saturday in August, it wasn't too crowded. The beach was clean. We had a great day.

Like most texas parks this one had great access and was not very crowded. One great feature here compared to PINS are the available porta-potties on the beach. We had a good time.

We did not actually go into Mustang Island State Park but access roads 1, 2 and 3 has great beach access which is free. The beaches were not at all crowded and the water was great. A lot of fun for the entire family.

We spent the day on the beach and it was beautiful! We were vacationing in San Antonio and drove down to the beach. Our only regret is that we didn't plan a longer stay! We will definitely be back!

I am a fan of the Texas State Parks. There is a section of the beach that you can walk up to after you park on the paved parking lot, if you are in a small car I recomend this. If you are feeling brave and want to drive up to the beach or have a four wheel drive, I... More

The park was clean and my children enjoyed the fishing there. Again too much seaweed, but totally enjoyed the surroundings. We had a great time. No mosquitoes!

Sure I've been to great beaches, but mustang ranks pretty high. Loved the whole area and its set up, the camping grounds and picnic areas. The beach is terrific! Paid $5 per person but the showers alone are worth it. Don't miss if you are in the area

Having gone here as a kid, back in 1977, not much has changed. Still unspoiled, with no hotel/resort development anywhere near it. Being a local, I highly recommend staying here away from town. FYI, when you come here to vacation, please slow down, be patient, and be courteous. This isn't Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, or Austin. We're on "island time".... More

This spot was perfect for our family. Wasn't crowded at all. We had a picnic table, porta potty, and shower all near by us. Perfect place to take the family for an outing at the beach. Definite re-visit.

Beach was great and not overcrowded. Be prepared for lots of seaweed! We were able to park right on the beach which makes toting everything quite handy.
