Get a beach pass...only $12. Worth it. Played all day at the beach and then drove the beach at night :)

The beach is amazing, it appears to go on forever and the hard packed sand makes walking easy. There are pelicans overhead, folks surfing and dolphins swimming alongside ship coming out of the ship canal. Beware of the dunes as they're the favourite haunt of rattlesnakes and that could seriously ruin your holiday. We were also told the town had... More

I love coming here when it isn't crowded and we come here about once a month because we have a condo here. The beach is always the same and always different. Always a pleasure for me to just sit and feel the breeze and listen to the sound of the gulf waters.

I was surprised to see some of the recent bad reviews but then I noticed they visited during a long multi-state historic flood. That is the order of things: Glacier to Gulf. Not during a flood, 'Port A' is a tiny gem. One of the few beaches left that a car (any car) can drive on. Closer to town they... More

Our family loves this beach. It is so laid back and has a cozy, peaceful, uncrowded atmosphere. We are not fans of crowds and I am always amazed at the open spaces. We were here memorial day weekend and it was a little crowded but not bad. Two days after when everyone went home has been incredible. In the evenings... More

We hadn't visited the area before driving down for the holiday weekend. We were told/repeatedly that we could drive right on the beach however after the recent monsoons the only vehicles that successfully accomplish that w/out getting stuck were huge 4x4 trucks. The access "road" to the beach was swamped and the (ew!) porta potties were only accessible by wading... More

We have always liked the jetties at Port Aransas. There are usually a lot of terns and seagulls near the jetty and the fishing can be good at times. They do clean this beach often so, for Texas, it is not bad.

The road paralleling the beach and the parking area resembled something you might see in a third world country. Dirty porta-potties, overflowing trash bins, a beach covered in seaweed and trash. Sad. No infrastructure. No place to walk. Overflowing water everywhere. Neighborhood yards and streets flooded, no place for water to flow. Million dollar homes next to condemned shacks. I... More

Miles of drivable beach in which to camp, bbq and surf. They also have a fantastic fishing pier. Come dig your toes in the sand and leave your worries behind.

Have been coming to Port Aransas for years. Great beach town that has maintained its laid back beach town feel despite the ever increasing condos and resorts. You are allowed to drive and park on the beach, but be sure to buy a parking pass. The beach can get crowded on holidays and some weekends in the summer, but it... More
