We got there at around 3 pm and the beach closes at 5. There was not a lot of people which I think was nice cause I don't like overly crowded beaches. We were going to rent an umbrella, but decided not to since there were only a few hours left. The water was warm and refreshing. The only thing... More

It's the Gulf of Mexico, so you know what to get in the Gulf. Seaweed, sand, good thing is you can take your dog.

Just got off the Island - had a great time soaking up some sun and watching my husband have fun fishing!

Liked: it was the beach and we did a lot of wading. Chased some crabs (son loved that!) Disliked: all the seaweed. There had been a storm or something so the water was REALLY stirred up and there were mountains of seaweed they'd scrapped together. They hauled it off but in the interim, phew! Smelly! and we didn't find any... More

We always love a day at the beach but the port-a-potties `and bathrooms were filthy. We enjoyed driving down the beach. Better conditions can be found.

I usually vacation at Port Aransas three times a year, this was the worst I have ever seen it. Just north of marker "0" and south of marker "7" was solid water and seaweed. Trash and seaweed lined the beach from the water to the narrow sand road. The smell was awful! I will be back for Thanksgiving this year... More

At least it was an educational experience... what happens when you combine weeks of washed up trash, rotting seaweed, tar, and a gluey sand slurry? I was hoping to walk to the pier this morning but this foul mixture was so deep up to the waters edge that I started to sink. Panicked that I would get stuck, I trudged... More

Location is not bad. Right on Mustang Island, directly on Gulf of Mexico. Beach is long, wide and white but, unfortunately completely covered with seaweeds! You have 4 roads to arrive at the beach, named Access Rd. number 1, 1A, 2 and 3. To park you need a permit but there are no information, anywhere, about where you can buy... More

The beach at Port Aransas is for all people, young and old. You can even camp free for three days in a row right on the beach. Take a tent, camper or RV. You can drive on the beac but now a $12 beach permit is required , but is good for a year. The beach is well maintained by... More

We have been coming to Port A for years; we planned to stay for a week but found conditions so bad we had to leave after one day. The seaweed and trash were piled high and covered vast parts all along the beach. Mosquitos swarmed us morning and night inhibiting our morning walks and evening fires. We may never be... More
