We went there today. The employee/volunteer, I don't know which, was so rude even to the point of picking up a child's hand and tossing hard it away from a button. It wasn't my child, but the behavior was outrageous. I watched him closely so that he dare not treat my child this way. The other parent was really not... More

We only spent about an hour. The kids (ages 9,6,22 and ME) liked the model train display and the exhibits and information inside. We really liked boarding the car outside and talking to the conductor (who was accurately dressed)about the operations of the train cars. The volunteers working inside were very knowledgeable and and engaged the kids. Great stop and... More

To begin - if I could give this museum a 10, I would do it. I visited today (9/18) and I absolutely loved it. It is a museum about the railway system in one of the old stops - Plano. It's very authentic. The museum has a large train showing you what it looked like rolling through the now busy... More

I guess the reviewers below were not local history buffs or train enthusiasts because I really enjoyed my visit to this museum. The museum is located near downtown Plano, in the only restored electric sub-station building from the Interurban line. It tells the history of the Texas Electric Railway, which carried passengers from Denison to Dallas, south to Waco, west... More

I took my two year old and it was a good place for him. A few things to keep his attention like how electric currents work, buttons he could push and things would happen, a small model electric train, and he was able to look at the train outside and go inside of it too.

Many kids today have never ridden on a train and may never have the opportunity to ride one in the future.Only a few trans come through Dallas each week and seeing one of the Amtrak trains is not a common sift. This is a small park in downtown Plano and is the perfect place to spend some time downtown browsing... More

We attended story time on a Friday, and all the kids seemed to really enjoy themselves. It is staffed by friendly volunteers, and the whole facility is clean and well-maintained.

This is a excellent history of not only the Interurban Railroad, but a great history of Plano and transportation of the past. The staff is wonderful and are very informative.
