an impressive array of reptiles-yes adequate habitats or facilities- absolutely not I read the website before I went. It makes things look much better than they are. The animals and patrons here are treated with utter disregard. Cramped, dirty, bare cages for the animals. I wouldn't let an animal use the one bathroom they have for humans! Even the large... more

You know, I've visited The Snake Farm many, many times. I go with my friends, my kid, even at lunch. I am an avid reptile fan and have been for years. They have an awesome collection of reptiles. They have mammals and birds, too. A collection that rivals many zoos, aqauriums, and theme parks. I know, I v'e been to... more

I do not recommend this place for various reasons: *enclosures were dirty *most enclosure sizes weren't suitable for the animals housed in them *seen a number of animals requiring vet attention *no need for the smell to be quite so harsh, which means cleanliness is not a top priority *there were ants everywhere; even on some of the animals *enrichment... more

I can't believe "Dirty Jobs" Mike Rowe would give this place any publicity. It's the most depressing in the U.S. (I've been to Haiti so I can't say in the world). The place is very unkept and filthy. I read the other comments on this place and all the comments addressing the bad conditions are still true, even w/new owners.... more

We had a great time over Memorial Day weekend when we made The Snake Farm one of our stops. Their collection of snakes trumps any that I have seen in my life at any zoo. I was a little disappointed that they didn't have the big one roaming loose like I had read about them doing. The staff was disappointing... more

My wife and I had seen the snake farm several times as we passed by on I-35 and decided to stop by on our way back to Dallas. We were so excited and everything seemed cool. We even got to take our picture with Brutus, the beautiful albino Burmese python. After having a longer look around things went downhill fast.... more

I've been going to Snake Farm since I was 10. At 40, I still love it. It's not clean, not sterile, not some little fairy tale place but that's the way I like it. Sundays are feeding days and absolutely amazing. If you're really picky (you know who you you are), then this place is not for you. But if... more

First off I love Reptiles and Reptile Zoos, I am not a animal freedom activist at all, with that being said, as I do love reptiles it is very disheartening to me to see them kept in such horrible conditions, The Yellow Anaconda for example was kept in a cage that had not nearly enough water for it and the... more

I thought the snake farm was great. This place is a great place to get an education about reptiles and alligators. The staff is very profesional. I also think the muscular feamle snake wrangler is gorgous. more

I have a feeling the animals on display were victims of poaching or other irresponsible animal gathering practice. The primates look as if their mothers were shot in the process of their capture. I'd be interested to know where these animals came from. I'm guessing they were purchased. I'll give it a good rating for the scope of the display.... more
