The access to the lake is not good. There are only a couple public access points. The main marina has hundreds of boats on a private floating dock and a little sore where they rent a couple boats ans some new jet skis. You must be 21 to sign the rental agreement. Tke ski boats are nice, but not available... More

My husband and I enjoyed swimming in Canyon Lake. The lake is clearer than most Texas lakes. We had a picnic at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers dam park. They are lacking picnic tables so we sat on a bench. The restrooms are nice. We enjoyed hiking across the dam 1.6 miles round trip and 3 miles of trails... More

The view across the lake is spectacular. Swimming was cool but comfortable in March; I'm sure it's great fun throughout the spring, summer and fall. We enjoyed walking around the lake and bird watching from our porch. More

We've driven through this area many times but still have yet to figure out how to get to the lake itself. The one time we did make it to the lake, we were at the spillway but had to trek down this steep rocky embankment. The area really is not all that inviting to me. I'm sure there are others... More

It is a pretty lake, as far as Texas lakes go. Rugged scenery and lots to do. More

An amazing place. The hike was not overly arduous and our guides were enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. More

Beautiful lake easy access near lots of recreation museums and food. Tubing, canoeing, kayaking, horseback riding, outdoor concerts, sunsets, skiing, sailing, people here have a Canyon Lake Friendly attitude. Great place to vaction, RV's and Winter Texan's. Accomidations range from primative camping to outstanding B&B's. More

This is just a small lake. When we were there it was during the drought of summer 2011 and the lake was drying up. The Guadalupe river is much better. More
