Canyon lake is a premier ski and boating lake. There is also some good fishing spots, although I don't fish any longer, I do have friends that say it can be great. Canyon Lake marina has boat, barge, and jet ski rentals available. There are many bed & breakfast and condos for rent on the lake, so you can sleep... More

We loved this crystal clear lake! Swimming and boating were so much fun. Weekends are very busy on the lake so go during the week if possible

We were invited by friends to stay at their 'lake view' house for a weekend get-together. One day we went boating on the lake. It's big! Stopped in Party Cove to enjoy a few cool ones and float around. It was a Friday and not to crowded. Saturdays during the summer are much more crowded. Even though it was July,... More

My husband and I found this Gem by accident. We were very surprised to see a fairly clean lake with clear water. The water was crystal clear and the sunset was magnificent. The next time we return to Canyon Lake we will be prepared to stay longer. Couple, single, or with family and friends this place is worth the visit.

First trip since moving to Texas. Was very excited to see some water for a change. Was clean and really warm. The only thing that spoiled the moment was a bunch of drunk teenagers on a boat. Simply moved to another spot and that was taken care of. Go back regularly now.

We were looking for somewhere to go to walk and hang out for the day. Saw information about Canyon Lake in a magazine and headed out the "scenic River Road"...nice curvy drive where you go over the river in several spots. Got to the lake and was impressed by it's size for a manmade lake with a dam. Water was... More

I love this lake! There were dozens of white tailed deer. A few of the very young fawns walked right up to our car before we even got out of it. I was glad I had an apple with me. The deer didn't seem to know what it was, but they liked it. The lake is quiet and peaceful. It... More

Having grown up around Canyon Lake and spent summers with friends there I had high hopes of sharing it with my family. The prior day we floated the Comal River and I wanted to change things up so we tried the south beach at Canyon Lake. We didn't even unpack.
