Our downtown circle (roundabout), is simply beautiful. The gazebo and the newly restored courthouse really do amp up the charm of our beautiful city. When the city turned on the Christmas lights this year is was raining and it was cold, but a few brave souls (us and 3 grandchildren) stayed to enjoy the festivities. Every night driving through downtown... More

Clean, pretty, peaceful. Don't forget to stop by the oldest bakery in Texas (founded in the 1800s) which is right off the square on S Seguin Avenue: Naegelin's Bakery. They have tables where you could sit, enjoy coffee and one of their pastries while gazing on the square. Very easy to park your car and just walk around.

The Plaza in the center of New Braunfels is so very quaint and wonderful. The ancient gazebo and the fountain are just marvelous. One is reminded of New England. It is so very pleasant to find this treasure still in existence and so well maintained.

We start our trips to the hill country of Texas in New Braunfels, Tx. north of San Antonio, off of I-35. This is the home of a large Fest Wurst in the first week of November with an atmosphere of a small German Octoberfest (considering the Germany O'fest has 10 tents which hold over 7,000 people each). The New Braunfels... More

Great outdoor market representing local farms, meats, cheess, artists, and crafters galore. Homemade preserves, soy candles, wood workers, and on and on. A fantastic market located on the side streets just off the main square. Year Round. 9am-1pm http://www.nbfarmersmarket.com/

The old town has a traffic circle around the square in the center of town. There is a nice coffee shop on one corner, there are restaurants and close to one corner a very nice old time bakery. When I went to this site I found no pictures and that puzzled me. However in all fairness I just left the... More

I like everything about New Braunfels. The popular bakery and historic hardware store on or near the town square and especially the Saturday farmer's market a block off of the town square. All are amazing. The parks in town are very beautiful as well.
