A huge rock bear on the top of a hill surrounded by gulfs, islands and a lot of wind. Very impressive. I suggest coming here either at sundown or when a strong wind is blowing... hold you strong!

You get there after a walk of about 20 minutes, more or less. During the walk you can stop to take pictures, look at the view, with a description of the vegetation and the animals that live around. Tickets cost € 2, € 2 parking. The rock is carved by the wind, very special. While you visit it, you don't... More

Definitely worth the walk...the views from Capo d'Orso are some of the best we saw of northern Sardinia - fortunately we had sensational weather. Definitely worth the time if you are in/around Palau.

I's a bit of a climb but it's absolutely worth it. The rock is very impressive and the view at the top is truly marvelous.

Great views from the top though you can not see the shape from there (saw the shape whilst on a boat trip to the islands of Maddalena) We went on a VERY windy day......a tad exciting or scary, depending on your viewpoint!

By car, around a 5-10 minute drive from Palau. Walking may take a while as it's all uphill, so transport is recommended. Gorgeous views, definitely something worth visiting and you'll get some lovely photos & views of Palau, Porto Raphael & Madalena.

A hot climb along easy tracks to this incredible landmark are worth the trip. A bizarre bear-shaped giant rock guards the entrance to the bay and is visible from the sea for miles away, seen clearly from the approaches to the Maddalene Islands. Other rocks took form in our fanciful minds as dinosaurs, hares and crab claws. Brilliant.

Amazing what Mother Nature can create, we just drove by to take a photo but there is a tour that you can take to walk to the top it will cost you about 2 Euros or you can get a package deal for 5 that will give you access to the museum & the Fort.
