Stayed in St. Martin for a ski vacation in Les 3 Vallees. It is a very nice place to stay. No crowds from Val Thorens or Les Menuires. No millionaires chalets from Meribel & Courchevel. Just a nice village. It still doesn't look like the wonderful Austrian mountain villages of Tyrol, but is a very good spot to hit the... More

St Martin is really the only one of the resorts in the massive 3 valleys that is a true village as opposed to a purpose built ski station. It has grown from farming roots and has lots of rustic charm. There are several restaurants around the village including two right at the bottom of the main ski run in to... More

A fantastic ski resort - highly recommended. Small but perfectly formed with loads of skiing and loads of great lunch venues!

St Martin is such a pretty little village compared to it's larger neighbours, Les Menuires, Meribel and Val Thorens. There are no high-rise hotels and the whole place has a charm that the others lack. But even better, the pistes are so quiet compared to the larger resorts in Les 3 Vallees - dramatically different! It's a great place to... More

We always make a point of lunching In St Martin on at least one day in a week's skiing from Meribel. A charming real alpine community, which has grown recently without losing much of its charm. It has several restaurants worth a second visit. Le Montagnard is the best known and most expensive, but we prefer La Vout, down in... More

Before we came away we really struggled to find the debutant/beginners ski information, so I thought I'd post it here. In the 2012-2013 season, in Les Menuires the free lifts were: Magic carpet 1 - In Les Menuires centre. You can then ski over the snow bridge, and down a very gentle green run called bd de la masse. This... More

its lived in all year as it’s the admin headquarters for the area, so that gives it a genuine feel. development has been managed so it retains a fair amount of charm. superb for ski in winter and well placed as a base for a horde of summer activities

St-Martin is the perfect ski resort: small and big at the same time! You'll access the top of Meribel and the Three Valleys in just two ski lifts, while staying in a lovely chalet far from the big buildings of Les Menuires or val-Thorens. The best way to go back to St-Martin after a long ski day is to do... More

To say that there isn't much skiing and only "one long blue run", In St Martin is a bit like saying there are no sights in Paris apart from the Eiffel Tower! The village is very pretty, and though now dominated by the winter sports industry, still is home to local families with cows and goats which graze the summer... More
