The pick up came on time. As an Asian, I am used to the local markets in Bali, but do take note that local markets in Bali are generally very cramped, and pathways are uneven and slippery. The instructor also warned us before we enter the market. Great explained the use of local ingredients at the market tour and it... More

Great time, picked up at hotel, a visit to the market then driven to Anika for the class. Very hands on , cutting , grinding the paste and wok cooking. Then of course the eating! Lovely food, met some lovely people in our group. Instructors were friendly, informative and spoke English well. Catered for vegetarians.

The cooking class is an early morning start (0700 hrs). You then go to a Balinese market if you have a weak stomach, perhaps some of the market experience is not for you, to be fair this is explained and you are given the option to drop out of the meat section. In our cooking class there were approx. 20... More

We did the morning cooking class which was the perfect length of time- not too short or too long. It was great looking around the markets and finding out the different purposes of many fruit, vegetables and spices. The actual cooking class was also great, we were in small groups meaning we all got lots of opportunity to chop, grind... More

Great place nice and close to Kuta. Wonderful staff and the food was magnificent. Well worth the money and definitely worth a visit. Bonus is they give u the recipes in a little booklet to take home.

It is an early start in the morning (around 7am from Seminyak) and the drivers are on time if not early. We went to the markets where the herbs and spices were explained to us. We then went to Tuban near the airport to start the class. We had about 10 dishes to cook and there were 8 people in... More

I chose the afternoon cooking class due to time restrictions and was hesitant as I really wanted to do the market tour, but it wasn't an option for the afternoon session. I needn't have worried though, as the first hour was a classroom style where we learnt in detail about all the relevant balinese spices etc. We were a full... More
