I had fond memories of delicious apple pie at the Big Apple. Today, I stopped in and noticed that the place was hardly busy at all. I purchased two pies and upon my arrival at home, brewed some tea and tried cut a piece of pie for myself. Boy, what a let down. These pies were HORRIBLE. No flavour -... more
Bought excellent pies here before in 2005, so we stopped May 17th,2009 and bought 10 pies at $10 each for our freezer. Did get the 11th pie free. But the apples in the apple pies are not cooked and the cherry-apple pie has no cherries. We now bake each pie another 2 hours after thawing just to soften the apples.... more
I took my three small children to the big apple as a stop off on the way to their grandparents. It cost me almost ten dollars for the three kids to have a bounce on the bouncy castle-total rip off. Not to mention the creepy, strange old man who mans the rides. He made inappropriate comments to my kids and... more
My family and I took a drive specifically to the Big Apple to retrieve pies for dessert. After years of just driving by and admiring the landmark on the way to my grandparents house, we, as adults now stop and visit the Big Apple. I haven't the foggiest what these bad reviews are about. Yes, I agree, some of the... more
After many years of passing the Big Apple we stopped to take an apple pie home. We couldn't wait to bite into it and we were soooo sorry. We had one bite and yuch. It is the worse pie possible. What a tourist trap of yuch!!!!! I was furious that they think they can rip off people and shipped the... more
Of course this isn't some high end amusement park. Everything, except the pie, is free. The pies clearly need to be cooked as they are meant to take home and cook there, not to just grab and eat at the hotel. If you buy single pieces they are fully cooked. I have bought many Apple Crumble Pies from there. NEVER... more
What other said about the food is 100% true - go somewhere else! The hamburger was in all honesty the WORST I've ever eaten - small, completely tasteless and mushy, and came with soggy lettuce and no tomatoes. The hot dogs were hard - either overcooked or reheated from the previous day. Only thing really edible were the fries. Thankfully... more
On my way home from Toronto, we stopped for a pie and some lunch. My one friend purchased a slice of pie, which was under cooked, the apples were hard and the crust was dough. Then two of us decided to purchase a chicken salad sandwich, we sat down to eat only to find when we opened it that the... more
The Big Apple has done some recent upgrades to add fun for the children. The grounds, eating areas and buildings were clean and well maintained. Most of the reviews seem to accurately reflect the quality of the food. If you have kids, keep them away from the gift shop. I was shocked when we went in and started looking at... more
