The castle can't be missed as it sits atop the hill in Trujillo. It does close between 2pm - 4pm though and cost 1.80 euro to enter. Not a lot to see but the views are good (although you can also get great views by climbing the tower of the church nearby). It's a pity that nothing seems to be... More

it's a pleasant hike up the hill to the castle, a massive building, with attractive views over the town and countryside, several towers and ramparts to be explored (not, perhaps, for those with vertigo), some historical guidance provided; and a chapel with the Virgin Mary who, for a euro, will rotate. You don't find that everywhere . .

We enjoyed our visit to this castle as well as all of the environs of Trujillo. It is a unique town with lots of its 13th and 14th century buildings still intact. Come ready to walk. Park your car and just get lost in the streets. Worth a visit.

This place is absolutely beautiful. A great stop off point if you are traveling from Madrid to Sevilla.

We walked up a steep cobbled road up the hill from te square to the castle, only to find that it closed at 2 o'clock. The entrance fee of 1.40 euros would have been very impressive if we could have gained entry. Wonderful veiws of town and surrounding countryside once you negotiated the repair works surrounding the castle. Do not... More

simple, unspoiled and much more history than you might expect! there are several ways up all involving a little climb or steep slow but each way has lovely views and plenty of churches, museums and cafes to stop in and nooks and crannies to peer into.

You can not possibly visit Trujillo without a visit to the well preserved castle and its ramparts which give you views for miles around. They were setting up for a concert while we were there. Our villa is next door and shares the views to the west, but we will go again whilst we're here.

It sits on the top of the hill overlooking the town and is beautifully lit at night. You can see it for miles!

I have been to this pleasant village a few times and A visit is not complete without a trip to it's castle. Although the interior is mainly in ruins a nice stroll along the castle walls gives you stunning views over the village and surrounding area.
