This zoo needs a lot of love and care. The animals look very sad (and there is a penguin in the middle of the park with only a tiny pool to swim in). The zoo is hard to get to without a car.

First of all I can suggest not going in the middle of summer with the heat it in Greece there really isn't much you can do about that. However we went in October and it was a delight to walk around and see all the animals. There is a very nice grassy area opposite the giraffe enclosure, outside the cafe(... More

It was our last afternoon in Greece and we were recommended to visit Zoo, which is not far away from Athens Airport. It was a great option to spend some time with kids over there. The territory is not very big, but there are a lot of animals there. We loved dolphins show, lemurs playground, cheetahs and rhynos land, etc.... More

Trip from Athens were sweaty and long with bus, but worth it. Really much different animals, you get close to them and have really good pictures of them. There was machines where you could buy food for goats and turtles for little money. There was machine for your own souvenirs to make from 5 cent coins. Lions enclosure was nice... More

A surprisingly nice zoo where you can easily spend the whole day. The animal enclosures are big compared to average and there are many interesting animals. The dolphins show is quite OK. Our kids liked it very much. Only setback is that the animal feeding times announced were consistently not met and you would often need to hang around for... More

Setting aside the well-documented controversy/tragedy with their dolphins, this zoo is a worthwhile visit for children and adults. The animals appear to be kept in a reasonably good environment, and the variety is excellent. Also very stroller friendly. Lastly, there is a very good playground. We visited the park 7-9pm which worked well - enough time to do the rounds,... More

Of all the zoos i have been to (which is a lot) this would be my favourite as it literally has everything. The dolphin show was incredible and well worth a watch, the staff have what appears to be a beautiful friendship with the animals. The open lemur park is amazing where all the friendly lemurs approach you for attention... More

We went here with a certain trepidation as there were lost of positive reviews from local people but not from tourists. Quite simply we had a really good time. We got to see lots of animals very closely unlike many other zoos. There was a good range from the lions and rhinos to the wolves and meerkats. Some of the... More

The zoo isn't layed out badly, and it appears to have a wide variety of animals. Too bad you can't see any of them because they are as hot as you are and are hiding under whatever little shade they can find. The zoo also suffers from a lack of shade or even fans (much less A/C) to protect the... More
