Downtown McKinney is taking a step back in time. There are no big box stores on the square, but quaint shops with owners willing to assist with your purchase. The restaurants are fun to stop in for a quick sandwich, or for an evening meal. Not all of McKinney is quaint though. Moving further to the west, the city opens... More

This is a small but a very unique place to visit. Most of the stores are expensive but you can just grab a gelato or homemade chocolate or nuts and walk around and enjoy the alleys and 12 or so blocks. There is a cool shop for dogs and tons of cool restaurants. My favorite is Gregoory's.

Nothing to dislike. Loved the amazing boutique shops, fantastic non-chain restaurants, immaculate streets.

This was my first visit to McKinney's square and I could have spent all day there. Whenever our travels take us back, we will stay at the Grand Hotel and dine at Rick's Chophouse and Harvest Seasonal Kitchen. And, shop, shop, shop.

I have been to downtown McKinney several times on business trips. McKinney has a charming historic downtown with a strong sense of community. McKinney is located just 30 miles north of downtown Dallas. Some of the restaurants at McKinney Main Street include: Aparicio's Restaurante Mexicano & Sports Bar, Caf‚ Malaga, Cadillac Pizza Pub, El Juarez, Herby's Soda Fountain, Coffee N... More

My daughter lives in McKinney and we love to go downtown to browse the shops and eat dinner. Clean, safe environment.

The variety and quality of the shops is wonderful. There was street music, entertainment and outdoor seating for restaurants. I wish I had more time, but you could make a full day of it, if not more. Notice the tall curbs: the town used to have horse-drawn carriages and the curbs remain while the horses don't.
