My husband and I travel all over the country by car and enjoy visiting small towns. We have experienced some really neat downtowns, but McKinney is the best hands down. It is very rare for a downtown to deteriorate and then come back to life, a vibrant life! I have seen the transformation and it is astounding what it has... More

One of my friends and like to check out the antique stores when we go downtown. I have found some great buys there. There is also a shop named Goodies that sells toys and wonderful tasting fudge. We usually stop at the Pantry for lunch. The food is delicious.

If you want big city things to do but the comfort of feeling like small town, do not miss out on visiting McKinney Main Street. It is so totally awesome. I love it and so do my children. So many things to see and tons of restaurant choices. My daughter especially loves the candy store.

Well, this has been my home town of nearly two decades, so I am admittedly biased. Despite recent issues that have made the news, this is still a wonderful town of truly warm and friendly folks and the old town square is the heart of this Texas treasure. The blocks surrounding the old courthouse and now arthouse theater are filled... More

Not being from Texas I wasn't sure about the area when I moved to McKinney. The town itself seems to have plenty to do and see but I couldn't find anywhere to just "chill". That is until I found the Downtown Square. The shops are amazing and the people that run them are your typical "TEXAS FRIENDLY". Being from up... More

The old main street area is great with a variety of quaint shops and good restaurants, however, I don't reccomend straying too far away from this area. It is an oasis of coolness in a sketchy neighborhood.

The people here test you like an outsider. There is not much to see and they don't make you feel welcome

I LOVE McKinney. It has great old world charm and something for everyone! McKinney has a Farmers Market each Saturday, McKinney Performing Arts Center always has something Cultural in store, and dont forget the season favorites like Zombie Walk October 10 or Ghost Walk the last two Saturdays of October.

McKinney Square and the surrounding streets are filled with excellent eateries and loads of fun boutiques. You will find everything, from arts & crafts, to a canine bakery (the Yorkie at our B&B gave four paws up for the pupcakes) to fashions. Such fun!
