The library is a treasure in this city. It was built a few years ago and has individual rooms that students can use for study. There are also meeting rooms that can be rented for community events. It is well laid out and is one of the nicest libraries I have seen.

This is a wonderful library converted from an old Walmart store!!! Big, clean, artsy, friendly. Love the Farmer's Market they have there on Saturdays, first of each month. Groovy.

I haven't been to the library in years and boy was I amazed at how they really improved the library, from silent rooms to the computer lab section. It was definitely a peaceful and enjoyable time at the library to read and forget about everything.

This former Walmart has truly become a beautiful addition to the community. MPL delivers on several levels--great place to spend a few hours reading or studying along with great programming for people of all ages. They have a great Summer reading program as well as daily programs for children (babies to teens). We are so happy to have such a... More

Made from an old Walmart store (that was donated) this is huge! Try to get to the market on the weekends

The library is a converted Walmart, and is bright, airy, has a ton of space and every year they add more titles. Staff are helpful. The worst part is they tend not to have the most recent titles available. Limited selection of books on DVD. Good genealogy department.

We were intrigued to see what this library was all about, since we heard the building started out as a Walmart store. Very impressive, indeed. The children's section was massive and the main section has some comfortable seating areas, access to computers for sourcing, and more than one help desk manned by a warm body. I really liked the half-level... More

The staff is always friendly, personable and helpful. We love story time with Miss Diana. Christina, Victor and Eric are very helpful, as well. It's a great place for me to do my private tutoring lessons. We're there on a weekly basis... at least!

I was told by my relatives that this was an old Walmart redone, so of course I had to check it out. Wow, is all I can say. I have seen many abandoned Walmarts which make me sad. The city of McAllen did a great job in changing this to a beautiful building. It is very spacious and very quiet... More

It is very convenient and well organized. It is a comfortable place to go. There are plenty of computers available without having to wait.
