This is a great zoo for senior citizens. There isn't 1/4 mile to walk between exhibits like there is in some large zoos. There is no up hill and down hill, it is all fairly level walking. You get to see all the exhibits without becoming overly tired.

Visited recently after having not been in years. It's still a fun activity for a few hours. A good selection of animals -- love the peacocks that room around -- and the grounds are nicely landscaped. Train ride is fun, even for adults.

Smaller zoo in a small town. It has most of your typical animals. The animals were well fed. The raccoon could have used a treadmill. But what can you expect for an American raccoon. He was jolly. The place is covered with peacocks. They are so tame we could almost pet them. Don't forget the train ride at the end.... More

Very unique zoo experience, wandering peacocks and very up close and personal exhibits with the animals. You feel like you are strolling thru a park with wildlife. Relaxed atmosphere and the train ride is a must. There are covered areas throughout the zoo with tables and seating so bring a picnic lunch.

A small local zoo. Good for a couple of hours. It is either overgrown with vegetation or it is kept that way for a reason. I don't know. It is much better than some small zoos I have visited with a good range of animals. The walking design is quite good. I believe it could use some care, but perhaps... More

I visited this zoo for the first time today. The weather was very pleasant, but the shaded walkways were still very nice and a relief from the sun. There are plenty of picnic areas and benches strewn throughout. For a smaller zoo, there is a nice variety of animals. Some have complained about not getting a map...you really don't need... More

We stopping here to kill some time on our way north. It was $7.50 total for myself and my son. It takes about an hour to walk through. There was a lot of close up encounters which was great and my 4 year old really enjoyed. We pretty much had the zoo to ourselves which was amazing. Take bug spray... More

I have fond memories of visiting this zoo as a child and it's even better now! I do miss Hippy and the original hippopotamus building a great deal, but the recently added habitats and garden area are lovely! Ellen Trout Zoo and Park will always be one of my favorite places on earth!
