For the size of this zoo, it is impressive the variety and amount of animals that reside here. It is well shaded and never excessively overcrowded. The entrance fees are nominal but the gift shop is slightly expensive. The concessions are reasonably priced so no complaint from me here. My family has been here numerous times and we will continue... More

My husband and I took 2 of our grandchildren to the Ellen Trout Zoo this week. It was a weekday so it wasn't very crowded although the southeast Texas heat and humidity probably had something to do with that also. The zoo is small but has many great animals and a really good reptile house. They have many snakes making... More

Pleasantly surprised with this place. Peacocks roaming around made it fun and interesting. Alot larger than i expected and very fair priced! Highly recommended

This zoo is the perfect size to stroll through in the humid East Texas summer. There's also a train located outside of the zoo that you can ride around the perimeter of the zoo. Look into the season pass - definitely worth it!!

We have been to this zoo a couple times. We absolutely LOVE this zoo. The animals are in pristine condition. We think this is one of the best, if not the best zoo, in Texas!!

It was a pleasant environment with plenty of comfortable places to sit and watch the animals. Very well kept flora. All the free roam peacocks where strutting around showing off there feathers. Very nice way to spend the day without spending a lot of money

Small zoo but very clean with lots of shade and easy to navigate. Parking was close and free. Admission was $5 per adult. We had a great time and would happily go back when in the area.

This Zoo is small but really nice. The parking is convenient. You can see the animals up close. It's not very crowded. The price is awesome compared to the city zoos. There is also a train to ride. There is a hippo, giraffes, snake house, bears, monkeys and many other small animals.

I absolutely love this zoo. It is small and nicely shaded. You can bring food in and eat in the zoo. There are multiple tables throughout the zoo with many being at an animal enclosure. These are shaded as well. Peacocks freely roam the zoo and are so beautiful. It's perfect for younger kids because it's small and not very... More

Great place for a family. I have been dozens of times. Lots of exhibits, two small parks, a train that crosses the pond. PERFECT size zoo for young kids; See all the animals and play at the park in 3-4 hours. Lots of fun. Great place for birthday. The annual Zoo Boo(the last weekend each October) is a must-do!
