We expected this to bra complete tourist trap, but we were pleasantly surprised. It is designed for tourists, but there are no pretend Cowboys or places to take silly photos of yourself sticking your head in some plastic junk. We bought a combo ticket for the historic tour and the museum. It cost $38 for one senior (65 and over)... More

Based on some reviews I have read people need to know the "basic" ranch tour is a historical tour, not one of the actual operations. A tour for actual operations on the ranch is available for a much larger fee and we knew that going in. We opted for the basic tour knowing that once we took that we would... More

Three in our group had read several books about Henrietta and Capt. King and the ranch history. We found the tour disappointing as the guide was less knowledgeable than we had hoped. There were no ranch operations to see on the day we toured.

All of our Historical/Agricultural Tour guides go through vigorous training to become a tour guide on the King Ranch and must pass a test before they can become a tour guide. For visitors with an advanced knowledge on the Ranch, it is suggested to go on a private tour where you would encounter a more in depth experience. Glad you... More

We took the bus tour at King Ranch and had a wonderful time. Our tour guide/driver was very knowledgeable and friendly. I would highly recommend the tour!

Enjoyed the tour- our guide was a lovely lady who helped us spot deer, turkeys, peacocks, squirrels and of course cattle and horses. I really would have liked to get out of the van and see the sights up close but we were not allowed. I was expecting to have more of an insight into the working aspect of the... More

I haven't been since I was a kid. I took my Mom and we made a day of it. We took the riding tour that takes 1.5 hours. There were people from different states on the tour also a couple from Sweden and two others from Scotland and Great Britain! The tour guide was a delight. Very interactive with lots... More

If you are in South Texas and interested in seeing and learning about the biggest family owned ranch in the US and maybe the world, stop by King Ranch and take the 1 1/2 guided tour. The guide we has grew up on the ranch and knew a lot about the family and ranch operations. We did not see as... More

This is worth taking the tour -- very informative. The history is fascinating and seeing it all today is very interesting. Good tour guide and helpful staff in visitor's center.

This place is amazing! We took the private tour so probably saw more than the standard tour. The ranch is vast with incredible organization. Very friendly people, lots of animals and wildlife.

We are from Ohio and visited King Ranch in August during at trip to Houston to see relatives. We wanted to show our 13 year old daughter a "Taxas ranch" so she would see something else besides the big city of Houston. Unfortunately the tour of King Ranch was just not very interesting for her or the rest of us.... More
