Great place for a family outing in the Houston area

Great place to spend the day with kids. I've been here more then once and had lots of fun every time.

We visited Kemah Boardwalk for the first time in March. What a lovely stroll and we enjoyed a really delicious lunch at Landry's and sat outside on the patio where we could watch the boats going out and coming in, as well as the people enjoying the rides. We can't wait to return when we can spend more time looking... More

A very vibrant atmosphere, lots of rides and restaurants to choose from and not far away from Houston at all. Stopped in on the way back to Houston from NASA, well worth the journey.

Kemah is a quaint little city in Texas 20 minutes southeast of Houston. The boardwalk area is good for short family fun by the sea. It has a number of enjoyable rides like the wooden roller-coaster, the spinning platform the goes up several stories high and then some. You can also ride a speed boat that goes several miles off... We ate outside at Bubba Gumps and had a lovely dinner. We didn't even go on any of the rides and still enjoyed our walk along the water after dinner.

Kemah is a great place to stop on your way back to Galveston from NASA. No admission fee necessary unlike Pleasure Pier ($10.00 just to walk around). Only the rides and games cost. Alcohol beverages also available to boardwalk patrons. We all took a trip on the Boardwalk Bullet and yes it was very fast and came at a fairly... More

This place is good for kids, but it's really crowded. Parking was $7, and we bought tickets for kids to ride train, roller coaster etc. It was really rather pricey, and the lines were so long we could not even use all our tickets. There is a nice view of the water if you want a bit more space. Bathroom... More

Our family (with boys age 4 and 7) visited on a Thursday afternoon in April. It is a great, outdoor place. We enjoyed the rides, beautiful boardwalk and view of the water. The stingray tank was awesome! There is a nice playground and splash area. There are many restaurants and shops. We would return. (No parking fee during the week).

We visited this attraction as part of the Houston City Pass. Kids (ages 4-7) had a great time even though the weather was a bit chilly. The only downside, and that was due to us visiting in the end of the off season, was that we had to wait for workers to take turns operating the rides....added a bit of... More

Stopped on the way to Galveston. The kids had a blast and there were next to no lines for any of the rides. The wooden roller coaster (sorry can't remember the name) was surprisingly fast and fun. Stayed almost 3 hours and got to ride every ride multiple times.
