My wife and I took the riverboat tour at the 2 pm time. It was very relaxing, not hot outside, nice breeze blowing. The tour guide was very knowledgable about the history of the big cypress bayou and also the town of Jefferson. He also had a great sense of humor. Really enjoyed ourselves.

We really enjoyed this! Our tour guide was a hoot, and she did a great job telling us about the history of the area, pointing out structures, and telling a us about the area and the wildlife. It was a hour well spent and gave us a good background of the Jefferson area. Not plush or fancy, but well worth... More

I took this tour of the Big Cypress Bayou on my recent trip to Jefferson. It was a lot of fun. Very good company (people I'd never met before) - we all enjoyed hearing the stories of the guide, and telling our own stories. I love listening to the guide talk! (she is a Cajun from Louisiana....) loved the accent,... More

A pleasant, though not memorable, motorized boat trip a mile or two up and back the Big Cypress Bayou. Commentary from the tour guides is historically interesting. Perhaps the most charming part of the trip is the laid back, up on stilts, a bit ragged, bookstore and ticket counter shack that serves as a gathering place. Much more southern Louisiana... More

Loved the tour of the Big Cypress Bayou in Jefferson, Tx. The boat ride was one hour down the bayou. The guide shared many interesting things about Jefferson's history and the bayou. I highly recommend this tour.

This was a really peaceful and pleasant boat tour. The man who gave the tour was so nice and has been doing it for a long time - very knowledgeable. Would recommend this as something to do when you're in Jefferson. I would also recommend the 10 a.m. tour in the summer months or when it's hot outside. In the... More

We were trying to decide whether to take the riverboat or train tour, and I believe we made the right decision. The entrance was just across the bridge. This tour is actually $4 cheaper per person than the train. We were there on a Saturday, and the tour was for 1 hour beginning at 10, 12, 2, and 4. They... More

We were lucky enough to hit one of those rare "cooler" July days and that made this experience all the more enjoyable. I used to love the LaSalle riverboat ride at Six Flags and these are the boats from this ride. We actually spent an hour on the bayou and learned a lot from our guide. It is amazing to... More

The boats are from the old LaSalle boat ride at Six Flags over Texas, which was really cool and nostalgic since I remembered the ride from my childhood days. The tour guide was excellent (can't remember his name). The history along the one hour journey was very interesting. Hint: There is a reason why it's called "Turning Basin". Learned some... More

My favorite part of this boat tour was our guide. A true local providing colorful commentary on the wildlife (and how to cook it), the history of the bayou, and the politics of Jefferson. I could listen to her talk all day! This was the perfect way to rest after a couple hours of canoeing, while still taking in the... More
