Ever since DFW Airport moved Founders Plaza I have stopped by to enjoy the view of the runways and the air traffic control transmissions. If you have kids who love airplanes it's a perfect pastime. Huge airport and a great touch.

With my husband being a pilot, we love all things aviation! Airplane watching and ATC listening is just something we do for fun. This is a great place to do it. We always bring a picnic with us and lawn chairs and have a blast. It would be great if there was a bathroom closer by so you don't have... More

This is a great place for little kids to see airplanes up close. Many times our grandchildren have seen planes at a distance and were fascinated so we decided to take them to the observation area. Our grandson (age 2) was fascinated for 10-15 minutes and our granddaughter (age 5) was interested for 5-10 minutes. It appeared that the boy... More

My dad LOVES planes and he LOVES this place. When he comes to visit we go here at least 2-3x. He could spend the whole day here. There is plenty of free parking, covered viewing area, a radio to the tower where you can hear what's going on, and maps where you can watch the planes and runways. There are... More

I was on a Business trip to Dallas, when I learnt about the Founders plaza. The very next moment I was driving in that direction. There is no other option but to drive, since the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) or any other public transport mode does not service this area. There is ample parking, followed by sitting area, live... More

Never have I've seen such a large international airport cater to its Aviation Spotters! This location offers very up close encounters with all types of aircraft landing on Runway 18R. With ATC pouring over the loud speakers, you don't miss a beat! As a plane spotter, I was very VERY impressed with this Official Spotting location! The only thing I... More

How great!! This is a perfect place to watch planes if your in to that sort of thing. There are viewers that are free so you can look to the airport and spot your planes to watch take off. They have a lot of parking, and you can also hear the control towers over a speaker they have there which... More

Founder's Plaza at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) is a great place to spend some time. The site sits on the northwest perimeter of the airport and offers views of aircraft landing from the north and taking off to the south. A chain link and razor wire fence separates viewers from the actual protected airport property. The view of the... More

Nice little area facing the runways on the North side of the airport. Great to sit and wait for your pick-ups or have lunch. You get a great view of landing airplanes of course the wind has to cooperate for the runway it sits on to be open. Fun way to waste some time or let the kids run themselves... More
