Mercer is the perfect spot to see new plants and measure full grown old growth to decide if these are right for your own garden. Love seeing the ponds and bamboo gardens along with the trails, birds and seasonal blooms. It is a romantic destination with many spots to sit and talk and simply enjoy your time together. A walk... One side (park by the library for it) is manicured gardens- very pretty. Lots of people taking Easter/ wedding pics etc. From that side you can also wale to the lake as well- benches only is you want to take a sandwich. The other side (across from the library) is just trails in the woods- also very pretty.

We enjoyed our trip to Mercer Arboretum and Botanic Gardens. The facility is well cared for and clean. The plants and trees are well labeled. Hopefully we got some good pictures.

We like to take our pups here for walks (bring baggies & leashes). Yes, the famously manicured Mercer gardens are on one side of the Aldine-Westfield highway...but, the dog friendly trails are on the other side of the highway; and there are many wonderful sights on the dog friendly side, as well! You won't be disappointed and the beautiful, tall... More

I visited the arboretum while taking a photography class. The gardens are gorgeous and have beautiful flowers year round. There is plenty of shade, so it was comfortable despite the TX heat. Beautiful areas to explore and a great place for photo ops!

Saw the signs for "Mercer" gardens, thought I would check it out. I was amazed at the wonderful peaceful place. This is a place to visit often. The layout is so beautiful and peaceful. Plants are so well cared for, wonderful place to just walk and admire the Beauty of Nature at it's best. I was amazed of the beauty,... More

Mercer is always interesting and great value - free is often good value. The spring flowers are currently at their best, while the azaleas have past. Visitors should know that a lot of work is being done to restore the arboretum after the drought of 2012, so you'll notice much "ground under repair". Be patient though - it'll be excellent... More

If you're into flowers and plants, I suggest that this is a great place to visit, not only for the horticulture but, also, if you want a great place for photographs. It can be HOT in July and August, but April through June and after August this can be a really great place to chill out.

Visit this place for sure. It's free and beautiful. A great place for easy trail walking/hiking, picnicking, playing, resting, reading, contemplating, relaxing. Beautiful trees, flowers, shrubs. They have several outdoor play structures for children to play on. We saw many people dressed up and taking wedding pictures, etc in the pretty surroundings. My family of four spent 3 hours here...
