The botanic garden is a joy to visit, many botanical collections and it is beautifully maintained, a large volunteer base has very wonderful plant sales, the new director has big plans for expansion and plant lovers will be thrilled by the beauty, many wedding pictures taken here.

Can't beat this - a very nicely maintained FREE park great for strolling, sightseeing, learning, and more. When I was there, a ton of people were taking glamour shots, professional family photos, etc. So clearly I'm not the only one to appreciate all the beauty here! I was there in the off-season so I imagine it looks even better in... More

This was a very nice place to take a stroll and take in some beautiful gardens both formal and informal. We spent 1½ hours here and only saw the gardens on the east side of the road. There is another section on the west side of the road that we unfortunately didn’t see. We went to the visitor’s center and... More

Such a great refuge in Harris County Precinct 4-- well-maintained trails, beautiful trees & flowers, great birds, and even flushing conveniences by the Post Oak Pavilion! Free, easy to get to, and soooo perfect for a Saturday morning walk in October!

Mercer Arboretum is a lovely, magical journey into a nature-filled walk! The Mercer Arboretum is divided into two sections, with one part on one side of the highway and the other, dog-friendly side, on the other side of the highway. Oh and there's a library on the grounds as well! The dog-friendly section has so many trails and each trail... More

A very nice garden with lots of variety. I enjoyed the little staircases leading to secluded spots and overlooks. There wasn't much blooming given the time of year but there was a great variety of trees and plants and a number of butterflies. If I am there in spring I would definitely plan to visit again.

We had some time to kill. The gardens were free. Leisurely stroll through tall pines shading bushes and flowers. A little laye in the blooming season but there were still some flowers to see. Bumble bees and honey bees were on just about everything still blooming. There were lots of tiny lizards running around. Signs warned of snakes but we... More

Mercer is the perfect spot to see new plants and measure full grown old growth to decide if these are right for your own garden. Love seeing the ponds and bamboo gardens along with the trails, birds and seasonal blooms. It is a romantic destination with many spots to sit and talk and simply enjoy your time together. A walk... One side (park by the library for it) is manicured gardens- very pretty. Lots of people taking Easter/ wedding pics etc. From that side you can also wale to the lake as well- benches only is you want to take a sandwich. The other side (across from the library) is just trails in the woods- also very pretty.
