I came by here a few months back and I have been wanting to revisit the site. It is a very beautiful monument surrounded by a beautiful park to have a picnic or just to relax. This isn't the American memorial cemetery in Normandy. No doubt meaningful to families of officers but beyond that, a real waste. There are so so so many other places around Houston for meditation and reflection such as along the banks of the bayou that runs through parts of downtown Houston....beautiful....but this place....if you knew the history of violence systemically in... There are places that we go where we can reflect on why we are able to be free, safe, and secure. For example, Arlington Natl. I have been there a few times i love it. Always a officer there in a little shed. they are very nice. There is a artistic pyramid water feature thing. you can climb to the top and sit. listen to the water and look at the skyline. I love it!!! you will too if you want some peace and quiet... More
