First time attending this theatre for a comedy show. Great location. Service was great. Only downside- you can buy alcoholic drinks, however, you have to purchase a "sippy" cup in order to take into the theatre. Never have seen this practice before. Not only was it more $$, on already overpriced drinks, but, it slowed the line down tremendously. Waiting... More

The new Hobby Center has a nice restaurant and bar attached for those who don't want to hassle with finding another restaurant before the show, but it is quite pricey and one can do much better by taking a taxi down Smith St. to Brennan's or Reef for top notch fare. The theater however is excellent! The Theater Under The... More

I have been able to attend several shows at the Hobby Center, the employees are always so nice and gracious, the sound is superb and the experience is always a good one.

Went to see War Horse. I happened to get really cheap seats, but the prior time - seeing The Book of Mormon - paid much more and was higher up in the nosebleed section.

We don't have a lot of experience with Broadway show venues, but this one really made us want to experience more! After seeing Book of Mormom, we can't wait to see many more. The seats weren't super-comfy but the audience was clearly used to it. lots of regulars and that made me see how this place is a great one.... More

My teenager and I went to see Little Mermaid Sunday evening. I loved the fact that we were able to get half price student and half price senior discounts an hour before the show. That way we were able to see an excellent show with good seats for a good price. The quality of shows that Theater Under the Stars... More

Love seeing Broadway plays here! The theatre is very steep, so even the cheaper seats at the top have a great view. I've seen Lion King, Elf, and Little Mermaid here and had a pleasurable experience. Free parking located on the street not far away. Hearsay lounge is a great place to get a pre-show dinner and drink.

Went for the first time since moving to Houston. We saw War Horse, awesome play. We got our tickets pretty late so we were in Orch R, far right. So it's what they call partially obstructed views (because you can't see the action on the right edge of the stage). But truthfully, we did not even feel we were missing... More
