While you the symphony is dull, the pops shows are a fun evening. A great date night to get out with your spouse.

Fun activity to do in Houston. Played well and enjoyed a concert. The symphony plays well and if you like classical music then you will definitely enjoy them

Don't know how to praise enough the incredible Sunday night Pops series. Recently saw Chris Botti, the most amazing trumpet player in America! I love all the symphony offerings, but as a 64 yo am particularly fond of the Pops, and the MICHAEL KRAJEWSKI, PRINCIPAL POPS CONDUCTOR Known for his entertaining programs and clever humor, Michael Krajewski is a much... The Houston Symphony makes me proud to be living in Houston. Amazing, world-class performances every time. Highly skilled, graceful musicians and an animated, energetic conductor. They perform such a variety of music, too, from the classics to video game to Disney music. Tickets seem very reasonably priced. Can only say good things!

I went to a free performance at the Miller Outdoor Theater. It was open lawn seating, family friendly, BYOB (alcohol is allowed, but no glass!), and overall a very enjoyable atmosphere. I would definitely recommend giving this a try!

Visitors don't expect Houston to have a fine orchestra, but we do, with a world-class conductor and top musicians. Ticket costs are way below those of other top-tier orchestras and well worth it.

I've kept season tickets for years and am always thrilled to attend each performance. First class in all regards.

Rice students get one specific free concert attendance to Houston Symphony every semester, and this is the one event that I will never miss. Expect a top-notch, world-class performance from this spectacular group! Every performance season, Houston Symphony hosts many events, which are not limited to your traditional classical music performances. The Symphony will occasionally bring in musical celebrities like... More

The symphony has not been good for years, they seem afraid to attack notes, unenthusiastic tones, but good for a bedroom community and yuppies who like to say they went to a symphony.

Selections of works to be performed for both the Classical and POPS series, whether familiar or "non-standard" are almost always crowd pleasers, and are consistently very well performed. The "Very Merry POPS" concert in December is, year-after-year, one of the most joyful and memorable events of the season.
