I choose my subscription carefully every year and have never been disappointed in the quality of the orchestra, conductor or guest artists. The hall is spacious and seats are comfortable compared to most performance venues. I've cried and exulted depending on the compositions. There is a 20 minute pre-concert discussion as well as a propos lobby performers to welcome concert-goers.... More

World class! Something for all tastes: Pops, classics, even outdoor at the Miller amphitheater and Mitchell Pavilion in the Woodlands. Many performances have an introduction by a member of Symphony-which seems to make it more approachable. We appreciate that Houston has this cultural asset and Ballet and Opera.

Enjoyed a wonerful summer evening in Houston listening to the symphany play at Miller Outdoor Theater. This was the fourth segment entitled East Meets West and featured Changlu Wu playing an instrument called a pipa. This is a four string plucked instrument, a kind of lute that dates back 2000 years. Beautiful sound. Nice family friendly crowd gathered on the... More

I had not been to see the HSO in a while. Recently attended a performance and was very impressed with the quality. I really like the new conductor. I certainly will plan to attend more regularly.

Performances are amazing. Jones Hall venue is older but so appropriate. Houston Symphony Chorus is an amazing volunteer group with world-class singers. Houston Symphony performers are outstanding. Go early to get an insider's discussion on the night's performance and the pieces - held in same hall and usually presented by 2 of the the evenings performers. Beautiful evening!!

Houston Symphony was extraordinary...the space, the music, the quality were first rate. We have seen two shows and will come for more.

Just finished my second year's classical subscription. Love the new conductor and the music this year has been wonderful. (I don't enjoy the Thursday night "Speaking with Andres" lectures at Rice though. They cut half the program, plus it's not Andres but someone else doing the discussion.

The Houston Symphony has been a world class symphony for decades now, as any music lover knows. Lang Lang performing Tchaik 1 piano concerto was breathtaking. With Andres Orozco-Estrada at the helm and Lang Lang pushing speedily along, the musicians stayed together tightly and built to a magnificent conclusion. On their own, the Tchaik 5 symphony was fantastic. Thank you... More
