Had the pleasure of visiting the dome twice, the first was as a teenager attending my first baseball game with my family in the 90s, none of us really knew what was going on, but it was a great experience of US life. Lasting memory was Jeff Baglow hitting a homer and the fire works kicking off. The second time... More

I loved going to the Astrodome as a kid...my parents had Astros season tickets and enjoyed going to all of the games. I remember going to Astroworld then walking over to the Astrodome to watch a game. Or vice versa. Also remember going to many rodeo concerts here.

Definitely a place for great memories with friends and family! I've seen many rodeos, Oilers games, Astros games, All-Star baseball and All-Star basketball games and concerts. Being dropped off as a kid and walking over the bridge to Astroworld and Waterworld is still like yesterday. The size of it from the outside was overpowering, and once inside... Wow! This place... Have attended baseball and football and rodeo there from the 70's. Was sad to see it closed down. As a kid going there it was always an awesome time. Seen the last astros game there. Oilers used to rock the house there.

Once a wonder of the world....then the worst baseball stadium in the league...it has long since been abandoned and an unending debate has ensued over what to do with it---the costs spiral to maintain it or rehab it but no one seems to have the nerve to tear it down. More of an embarrassment than SJL!

I remember going to a few Astro games with my family. Everything is big when you're a kid but the Astrodome was amazing. The idea of fake grass or Astroturf was just unbelievable to a country kid. Even with all those memories, I'm glad they are finally tearing it down. If you're not going to maintain it, then change it.... More

Been to this great place many times. I sit here and read all these people saying to tear it down. This is sad! It may be in bad shape but with investors money, this place could be in prime shape once again. I hope and pray that The Astrodome is saved and put to great use for the city of... More

I was there since the day this building was put up. I went to many venues in the Astrodome, including Rodeos, Home shows, Karate tournaments, Astros baseball and more. I would hope that there is an entity somewhere here in Houston that could put their funds together and save this building, if not, to construct a new one that resembles... More

The Astrodome was the 8th wonder of the world but now it's inhabitable due to condition. The City of Houston won't even give an occupancy permit due to it's deplorable condition. I once worked at the Dome for several years remembering seeing ELVIS and SO many other stars at the Rodeo! Astros games, concerts and of course Love ya Blue... More
