I remember going to a few Astro games with my family. Everything is big when you're a kid but the Astrodome was amazing. The idea of fake grass or Astroturf was just unbelievable to a country kid. Even with all those memories, I'm glad they are finally tearing it down. If you're not going to maintain it, then change it.... More

Been to this great place many times. I sit here and read all these people saying to tear it down. This is sad! It may be in bad shape but with investors money, this place could be in prime shape once again. I hope and pray that The Astrodome is saved and put to great use for the city of... More

I was there since the day this building was put up. I went to many venues in the Astrodome, including Rodeos, Home shows, Karate tournaments, Astros baseball and more. I would hope that there is an entity somewhere here in Houston that could put their funds together and save this building, if not, to construct a new one that resembles... More

The Astrodome was the 8th wonder of the world but now it's inhabitable due to condition. The City of Houston won't even give an occupancy permit due to it's deplorable condition. I once worked at the Dome for several years remembering seeing ELVIS and SO many other stars at the Rodeo! Astros games, concerts and of course Love ya Blue... More

Been here many times it was large and it served a purpose it housed all the evacuees from Louisiana from the hurricane. It holds a lot of people. I'm not sure what the plans are for it. If its just sitting there then it should be used and since its not being used then it should be taken down. My... More

It is an eyesore at best. It needs to be renovated or torn down. Surely there is something that can be done to better use that space

The first domed stadium with its own artificial grass, called AstroTurf The place is big and they used to have the rodeo and oil well conventions in there whith actual drilling rigs and equipment set up in there. Sadly it's fate will be the save as astroworld, struck down by the wrecking ball.

I went repeatedly from the mid-'70s until it was shut down. The future of the Dome is too dependent on greed rather than logic. Reliant Stadium didn't need to be built; the NFL knew the Texas were coming two years before the Oilers left. Houston did not have to build a new stadium to get the team. It would have... More
