We absolutely love the Houston Zoo. We have been members for 3 years now and and it is worth every penny. Always go first thing in the morning as the animals are more active and the crowds are less. Also, you can usually get free parking first thing. Even with our 3yr old granddaughter (who loves the giraffes and monkeys)... More

This zoo seems to be made for the hot weather. It has plenty of shade for walking around and many inside exhibits that helps keep you comfortable during your tour. I was very impressed wi th the overall landscaping and enjoyed that equally the exhibits. The whole zoo was very well kept and clean including the animal enclosures. It's located... More

Zoos have certainly gotten better over my lifetime with more environmentally friendly holding pens for the animials and better conservation efforts to prevent extinction. The Houston Zoo has beautiful landscape, water features, lots of shade, easy walking paths, good signage and interaction with some of the animals. The kids always love the petting zoo and viewing the newborns.
