My brother and I went to visit the zoo on a cloudy day and did not realize that many animals would hide or sleep. Although we did not get to see many of them, it was definitely worth it. It was nice to see how the personnel takes care of animals and the zoo itself. Would be great if they... More

Great zoo, tons of animals from the mighty lion to the white crocodile. It's not the biggest zoo, since its in the city, but it has a nice cross section of animals to enjoy. It's very kid friendly, you can feed the giraffe's, ride a merry go round, and enjoy basic food like chicken tenders and pretzels.

The Houston Zoo is not the biggest or the best zoo, but it is pretty good. They keep the pens clean and make improvements to the enclosures where they can. They have a neat rainforest area with a winding wheelchair accessible boardwalk. The bathrooms are clean and there is a water park and playground for the kids. Our 4-year old... More

AS a long time Houstonian, I have watched the Houston Zoo grow and improve over the years. They have added animals and exhibits, improved the landscaping and provided more places to get snacks, change babies, etc. It is very crowded on weekends. Recommend going during the week if possible. The fees have gone up over the years - as have... More

I love zoos, and often visit a zoo whenever I travel to a new city. Over the holidays I was able to visit the Houston Zoo and I am very glad that I did. Some of the exhibits are a bit older and could probably use some updating, but there was a lot of great stuff to see. I really... More

The weather was wonderful the evening we went. It was extremely busy that day and the shuttle we took from the parking garage to the entrance took 40 minutes due to traffic. The shuttle did not take as long going back to the parking garage. The lights were amazing and even though it was crowded, the walking was not uncomfortable.... More

Lots to see. It's a family favorite. Definitely worth the family yearly pass. Love how the keepers interact with the public. The animals seem very well cared for.

We took our grandbaby for her first visit to a zoo. She was about 15 months old. A little too young for some of the exhibits, but, the overall experience was awesome. We will take her back again and again.

We have season passes to the Houston zoo every year. We never go in the summer because I think it is way too hot. However, there are so many shaded areas and inside areas as well. Make sure you visit the elephant baths! My children beg to go here!
