The ZOO in Houston was so much fun. First awesome thing I noticed was the valet parking which with kids - always helps. It was smaller than I expected from the outside but still very clean. The exhibits were nice. The amusement park on site was so much fun. It started to rain and we stayed the restaurant had decent... More

I have been there a few times since moving to the Houston area. This is one of the cleanest zoos I have been too. The animals are well taken care of and of course the merry-go-around in the middle of the zoo is a great attraction. You can even feed the giraffes! We have a yearly membership, it is well... More

The zoo likely serve the needs of local population, but not sure if it is a must see for tourists. There is a great collection of monkeys.

always plenty to see, but be sure to dress comfortably (walking shoes) with water or waterspray bottles for the children in the summer. It is a lot of walking

We enjoyed our day out at the Houston Zoo. This is a large zoo with a wonderful selection of animals. The zoo is well kept, clean and the animals appears healthy and well looked after.

I reviewed the Houston zoo 2 years ago, when my toddler was only 1. Now that he is 3 and goes to the zoo every other weekend, I felt like i needed to review it again. My toddler loves the zoo. Now that he recognizes most of the animals and has his favorite...we go often. We purchased the one year... More

I've been a member of the Houston zoo for 7 years now. They have done some great work expanding the zoo with the addition of their African park. Its a great place to get outside and walk around. I highly recommend the membership - an individual (1 + guest) is only $65/year. I saw the tickets are now $15. We... More

Loved the distraction while awaiting treatment at MD Anderson. A lovely fall Saturday at the zoo was a great distraction from upcoming surgery. We enjoyed all of the natural shaded settings for the animals on a sunny warm day. Loved the Madagascar exhibit.

Nice zoo. Our children enjoyed the many different animals and the walks where shaded and large. Food was pricey and average for Zoo food. But we had a good time over all.
