This is the best zoo we have been to. A little pricey at 17.00 for each adult. But once you get inside you see where the money goes! The zoo is beautiful and the animals are in very nice in closures. Plan for the trip to take at least 3 hours. ( we were that long and we don't have... More

I'm a south Texas native so I know how to deal with heat but besides the beautiful animals and great interactive exhibits, all I can say is: shade shade shade. I've been to my fair share of zoos and no matter how advanced and new, temperature is always the deciding factor for any outdoor exhibit. No matter what cool animals... More

I've been to lots of zoos across the world. The Houston Zoo has a really nice collections of animals that rivals almost all other zoos out there. The layout is an oasis in a relatively busy part of Houston and almost makes you forget about where you really are. The one negative mark I give this place is the very... More

This is one of the best zoos I have been to. It is very large, so with small children, good to have an idea of what you really want to see. What I really liked for the kids was the guides along the way and play spots, helps to keep attention :) a train circles the zoo so you can... More

Houston Zoo has become better with the years. it is not a huge zoo but worth visiting. Their zoo keepers have a vast knowledge to answer any questions from very basic ones up to more specific/technical questions about their animals, environment, etc. I like the fact that their main focus is endangered species and their breeding programs. The Gorillas are... More

Our four year old grand daughter loves this zoo. She looks forward to getting to touch a snake, an alligator, or a goat. Great experience for a city girl. We all enjoy seeing animals in a natural habitat. We consider the cost a real value. We do recommend eating at the cafe just outside the main entrance. They have a... More

Outstanding experience for adults & family. New gorilla exhibit is must see; try to visit the tree house. Winter lights is most spectacular in Houston - 2M+ lights.

The zoo is a wonderful part of Hermann Park. The new gorilla exhibit is wonderful. My favorite things to do are watch the elephants get a bath in the morning and the sea lion show in the afternoon. The children's zoo includes playful otters that are fun to watch. The trainer talks are well worth stopping for when you come... More
