Selected number one Zoo in America by Parenting magazine. It is a great place to see and visit with plenty of amenities and nice landscaping. The zoo is in the heart of the Hermman Park which is a nice complex with a Japanese Garden, a Rose Garden, an outdoor amphitheater, a lake and a mini-train that takes guest around the... More

Its been years since our family has visited the Houston Zoo. I must admit, my expectations were not sky high. Oh and by the way...My review is based on the people factor and not the animals. Wow, were we pleasently surprised. Our first encounter was at one of the many cafés. Staff was friendly and the cafe was spotless. They... More

Houston Zoo has gotten much better since they have added a few animals and redid some of the habitats!! It is a great place to go with family or just friends!

We have visited many zoos in the US and this one ranks right up there. First of all, the landscaping is outstanding! You will be really wowed by it. The animal exhibits are amazing but the top two are the guerilla and the chimps exhibits. You will love them! They have a great children's area too. What really amazed us... More

Big zoo with lots to see. The gorillas have a nice big area and is probably the best part of the zoo. I'd like to see the Grizzly bear have an equally good enclosure though.

The zoo is really nice and there are many kinds of animals and things to see. The cages allow you to be quite close to the animals and it's very nicely decorated and somewhat interactive. You can also collect the tickets, which have fun facts about several animals. I would go there again.

We lived in Louisianna and made the trip to the zoo one afternoon and ended up coming back a few more times. Was well worth it. Great location, easy access, and not that expensive. Kids loved the elephants and allthe little rides trhoughout the park. There is lots to do and it felt like we did not have enough time... More

Very nice zoo in a nice park setting. I think the Houston zoo has often been underrated. Take time to also enjoy the park and neighboring museums.

Great zoo! Maybe a tiny bit smaller than the Fort Worth or Dallas zoos, but just as fun! Very spacious and well-arranged. We especially loved the reptile house, where you can show your kids all sorts of different snakes, lizards, and larger reptiles.

This place is is so beautiful during the holidays. They have lights every where. They have so much to see and do besides the animals. I do have to say everything is very overpriced but I think that's the same every zoo.
