Nothing special about this place, no feats no flaws. The bar has an odd selection of beers, and a notable menu board on the wall , with witty cocktail names illustrated with color chalk sketches drawn by hand. I enjoyed my time there, thank it very much.

Sundance Cinema was a great addition to the downtown Houston scene after the Angelica Theater closed but they did not uphold the indie film fervor of the previous tenant. I like the bar and restaurant idea but they fail to marry the two with your cinematic experience as you have to leave the theater to get your food during your... More

Where else can you make a seat reservation print your ticket go to the theatre buy dinner or snacks (including drinks) and take it to you seat. State of the art sound, seating with tables every two seats, AND you get to bypass the boxoffice line.

This is not your typical cinema. Mostly attended by adults, especially during the evening showings, and I love that. You will find that this is a mature crown, wanting to enjoy the theater experience, and you are unlikely to encounter a group of teenagers tossing popcorn and snickering loudly through your film. The concession area offers typical movie fare, or... More

Huge screen! Almost TOO big, though... Get seats as far back as you can! Price wise, it's pretty good value for money, plus you can take your drinks into the cinema with you.

The Sundance replaced the Angelika Theatre here in Houston a few years ago. I like this venue a lot. The place is very well maintained, clean and comfortable. It has a downtown location but parking is so easy underground and the fee is refunded by the theatre. Seating is reserved - can be done so prior to arrival if desired,... More

What is with the decor? The place was a little drab but still modern I suppose. I would easily go back as the cinema experience was great, bar and food great, screen good.

This theater is way too expensive. The theater will validate parking, but then most theaters have free parking. If a film is playing elsewhere, check the prices at each cinema and be a discriminating shopper.

The feel inside Sundance is...well...different. And, that's a good thing. Redford, who owns the chain, did a great job at making the movie going experience more of an adult pleasure experience, including beer/wine and nibblies, etc. in lieu of the usual fare. The decore is more Cali than Texas. So, when you're inside you almost forget you're in deep in... More
