The Village Bakery at 4509 Kelvin Street in Rice Village is exceptional. I needed Minion cookies sent to my brother at MD Anderson for his birthday. I ordered 2 dozen, individually wrapped Minion cookies. They were decorated in detail and tasted delightful. Richard took my order and double checked it to make sure it was just as I wanted. He... Rice village was once the most fun place to visit. It was a collection of mostly independent shops and restaurants covering several blocks near Rice University and the Texas Medical Center. It was great for walking, browsing and finding unusual items. But like so many areas in Houston, it got discovered and became trendy. Many of the independent shops were... More

The area is nice for walking and shopping. The English imports store is one of my favourites. There's a wonderful bakery as well. I can always find something unique when I look through the little shops.

There are a lot of shops in a small place. Most of them do not really sell quality goods. In my view it is not worth the money to travel to this place. Better spend some time in one of the bit malls around Houston.

Rice Village Shops has most of your typical stores, GAP, EXPRESS, LOFT, BANANA REPUBLIC, URBAN OUTFITTERS. I was hoping there would be a few more of the local stores but most of the area was your nationwide commercialized shops. If your looking for an outdoor mall, you will like the shops, if you were hoping for a more of a... More

Nothing special to this place. Your typical shopping area, with ,ice needed upgrade. Hopefully, sooner than later.

If you need to choose between the Galleria and Rice Village, go to Rice Village if the weather is tolerable. Very safe feeling neighborhood. Lots of terrific stores, one-of-a-kind items. Great values! Nice cafés and patio areas to enjoy the sights and sounds and take a break. Lots of common mall shops, too. Highly recommend!

The shopping leaves a lot to be desired, as there really isn't a lot here. However we visited a few of the bars in the area, notably 55, which we really enjoyed. Nice for a wander.
