Parking tends to be tight and limited but if you like boutique shopping and nice food, it's worth the effort of finding a space. There is a great variety of places to shop including a nice Native American jewelry store, a great rustic furniture store, a few hair salons and an incredible watch shop that handles high end time pieces... Rice Village is close to Rice University and in a very beautiful area of Houston. There is a selection of stores, restaurants and services. I can only recommend to visit when you are in the area.

This is one of Houston’s best places for having a good time. Its 16 blocks offer an eclectic mix of more than 360 shops – all located only a half-mile (0.8 km) or so northwest of several METRO light rail stops and as far west of the Rice University campus. It’s a good area for walking, bad for parking. One... More

Great collection of shops and cafés. A cool English shops with well priced fun stereotypically English stuff like Jammie dodgers and Dr Who tshirts, a great MAC shop with a great manager, stop by for a makeover, the chocolate shop and lots of good places to eat. It is a nice place to wander around with lots of places to... More

First time to be here was in 2008, and it didn't strike me as such a great place to visit. This time, 5 years later, I had the opportunity to stroll around the place at a more leisurely pace since I timed my visit when the business schedule of my Houston sojourn was at its nadir. And believe me, leisurely... More

On a great day in Houston, Rice Village is a fun place to walk around and enjoy great local merchants. Several square blocks with great shopping and places to eat. Find unique items as well as many of the standard mall retail shops in this great outdoor shopping district. Some of my favorites are J.Silver for jewelry, the Chocolate Shop... More

A nice change from the mega malls, and a great way to stretch your legs and get over jetlag; small town feel!

This place is great for shopping because it includes chain stores (Gap, Anne Taylor, Victoria's Secret), mid-range boutiques (Langford Market, Mint) and high end boutiques. There is also a bookstore, dessert places (The Chocolate Bar is my favorite!) and restaurants. A great place to spend an afternoon of retail therapy!
