Since we live just a block north we don't have the parking issues that others have reported. The nice thing about running around Rice is that, although it's roughly three miles, it's very easy to extend the run simply by crossing the street and running in Hermann Park or by running within the Rice campus. It's generally not nearly as... More

This was a wonderful jogging trail around rice university under the wonderful oaks. I could not find distance markers and parking was terrible. I could only find parking requiring payment and that didn't seem to work. After circling twice I decided to park in Herman Park, luckily it was before 8 am on a Sunday. I am hoping to figure... More

If you happen to get stuck waiting on someone at the medical center, the trail is right across the street. You can put on your running shoes and kill some time on this 3 mile loop. Also can cut across the campus for some variety. If you're in the area, there is a really cool exhibit in St. Luke's Hospital... More

2.8 miles of trail and a canopy of trees takes you around the college and along lovely, established neighborhoods. The small but interesting farmers market on Tuesday afternoons is a fun stop.

We stayed within walking distance of this trail with family over Christmas and New Year and visited this trail many times both on foot and on cycles. Absolutely super.

A well surfaced track, and a good distance: essentially 3 miles, or multiples thereof, which are classical racing distances. Well shaded, pretty setting. Main issue is that there are a number of exits from the carpark, where you need to be cautious, not so easy the third time round and tired! Track is a bit narrow, and can get busy.... More

This is a great trail that's very convenient for visitors staying in the Medical Center area. The loop is almost 3 miles long (it's closer to 2.9... splitting hairs, I know). To add length without running in circles over-and-over you can add the Hermann Park loop to your run by crossing over Main St / Fannin.

The track/trail is crushed gravel and dirt so easier on the knees than concrete. The impressive trees provide shade for most of the track. Length is just under 3 miles. A longer run can be done by laps or veering into the nearby Rice Village (shopping area) or Hermann Park or the museum area or even by running the bleacher... More

The Rice running trail is my favorite place to run. It is lined with live oaks casting a pleasant shade, especially on the many hot sunny days here. You can park for free in the neighborhoods surrounding Rice--just be sure to read the street signs to make sure you can park there. The loop is a little less than 3... More

The trail is right across from Hermann Park, in the Museum District. It actually wraps around Rice University campus, where shade trees and nicer houses are abundant. The whole trail is about 3-mile long, all the way under large trees, over crusted granite, by quiet residential streets, which makes the entire walk/run experience very pleasant. And if 3 miles are... More
