So what really ticks me off is the lack of adequate lighting. Get some street lights, trim the trees and it would be safer. Lotsa joggers crisscrossing the streets etc...

The 3 mile loop around the Rice campus is safe, always populated and gorgeous especially in March when the azaleas are in full bloom. Runners, walkers and their knees appreciate the mix of sand and fine crushed gravel that the loop offers. Rice loop is filled with students, neighbors with strollers, and older professors enjoying the stunning canopied streets. As... More

Every March around St Patrick's day, I try to ride or walk in and around Rice University to look at all the beautiful azaleas they have planted over the years. This time we combined the day with an afternoon sitting out at Reckling park to watch harvard get beat by the Rice Owls.

The Rice University Trail is a great 3 mile walk or run around the Rice University campus and in the shadows of the Texas Medical Center. Covered with stately oak trees, the Trail offers great running and walking areas, a great view of the campus and the large homes that surround it. It is definitely worthe the effort.

One of the best places to be outside in Houston. Oak trees shade the entire track. You can also cut across the Rice campus if needed or to just walk through to look at some of the great architecture.

We come to Houston quarterly for medical reasons, and love to walk on this trail. We walk from MDACC and enjoy the peaceful trail. Most are jogging, but we stroll the three miles, watching our footing because of the roots. It is shady with beautiful trees and we feel very safe here.

Go in the Daytime though; there are some dark spots on the trail. Well traveled, many traveled and a nice city walk/run around Rice Campus. a nice place to exercise.

This manicured, gravel walking, jogging track goes 2.99 miles around Rice University and its 100 year old oak trees (It was build on a treeless plain). It would be perfect were it not for the traffic noise. Great for families of patients at the Med Center if they need to get some air.

Need a quick run to take away the daily stress? In the middle of the city, by Hermann park, is a three mile loop around Rice University. This is one of the most beautiful campuses in Texas.

This trail is romantic and fun I walk this trail sometimes after a run and other times for a Sunday stroll with my wife. It never seems to be crowded and it provides a connection to the dirt that I don't get much of living in this concrete city.
