Run Run Run!

Great spot for running in Houston. Can get a little busy, but its big enough. Its about 3 miles for one loop around it.

Not sure if I was ever officially on the "trail", but I must say it's a great campus to walk around. Each of the streets is lined with trees whose branches overlap the street so much you feel like you're in a tunnel.

I love this trail as the service is gravel and there is plenty of shade in the Houston heat. Things to be aware of are the many tree roots and driveways that lead into Rice University. Most driver's are courteous, many runners are not. Just keep our eyes and ears open. The other issue is that there are no public... More

This is a nice running or walking trail. There are occasional cyclists as well, but the runners generally make them unwelcome. Be weary that it is a gravel trail so it may be quite dusty or a bit muddy depending on recent weather. There is a fair bit of shade from large trees for much of the trail. Be weary... More

When I used to live here, I would walk the trails. I didn't feel in danger while walking since there were a lot of joggers, walkers and did not do so at night. Lovely trees and buildings. Rice University is gorgeous!

At least Houston has another non concrete option (Memorial Park is the other), so I can't complain being that this is the city. Drawbacks are that parking is difficult, and the trail is narrow, so you are constantly having to dodge people on the trail. Especially frustrating is that people walk three abreast, and don't want to move when a... More

Go out for running on this track! It has a distance of about 5 km. You will meet other runners here everytime.

It's a very nice place to walk or jog. Rice is a beautiful campus amidst the world renowned Medical Center. Beautiful historic area of Houston with lots of old oak trees. Farmers market on Tuesdays in Rice Parking lot. Just be careful if crossing the busy intersections.

Since we live just a block north we don't have the parking issues that others have reported. The nice thing about running around Rice is that, although it's roughly three miles, it's very easy to extend the run simply by crossing the street and running in Hermann Park or by running within the Rice campus. It's generally not nearly as... More

This was a wonderful jogging trail around rice university under the wonderful oaks. I could not find distance markers and parking was terrible. I could only find parking requiring payment and that didn't seem to work. After circling twice I decided to park in Herman Park, luckily it was before 8 am on a Sunday. I am hoping to figure...
