My husband and I have attended Alley productions off & on over the years, but decided to become season subscription holders 2 or 3 years ago. We have not been disappointed in any production! Drama, comedy, mystery -- all well done. I especially appreciate the ones that make you think and prompt discussion afterwards. My only complaint was that the... More

The Alley is currently being refurbished. Plays are now being performed at the University of Houston. The acting is always top notch. The theater is well supported by the citizens of Houston.

This contemporary building doesn't look like much from the outside to me. However, once you are inside the theatre, there doesn't appear to be a bad seat in the house. Consistently great performances here too!

Inventive sets and costumes combined with a clever script all performed by Broadway caliber talent make the Alley a bargain in the theatre world. I liked the intimacy of the UH Wortham theatre, as well.

Just saw the Alley theatre's play Dracula. What a great time! The set design and costumes were right out of the 1977 broadway version of the play with Frank Langella. The stage and actors were just the best, the audience loved it. I am looking forward to seeing more of what the Alley has to offer!

I've been a bit disappointed this year in the Alley productions. The actors can be inconsistent in their performances. Sometimes they seem like they're just walking through their lines. I know it's a repertory company, but sometimes the actors just aren't right for some of the roles. Perhaps it's time for some new blood? Will be interesting to see what... More

I have been going to the Alley for years. They have a great company and 90% of their plays are real winners, not just because it is a good play, but because they always put their own twist on things. Theater is currently undergoing renovations. Can't wait to see how it turns out. If your in Houston, check out a... More

I ushered here for a year and attend performances regularly. This is a great time and they have fabulous presentations especially around the holidays. It is clean and has convenient parking. Great actors.

This is one of the few places where a Matinee is truly worth the price. THERE ARE NO BAD SEATS. The accoustics are wonderful for the venue. You can eat at the surrounding restaurants and make sure to tell them your show time. Take my advice and see A Christmas Carol what a great tradition fir my family.

Conveniently located in the Houston theater district, and near especially nice restaurants, the Alley is our favorite! We have favorite actors in the permanent cast and, often, there are opportunities to meet the actors in a social setting. The choice of performances is excellent. The sets make the stories believable and the costumes bring the characters to life. The Alley... More
