We have been to the Alley Theatre a couple of times. The Alley is not a huge theater, so all of the seats are quite good, although if you sit at the extremes on the right or left, some of the action on stage may be obscured occasionally, depending on the set. Adjacent event parking is $10. The theater is... More

The theatre has a sweeping grand staircase leading up to the main floor. No bad seats anywhere in the theatre. Be sure to look for the Alley's Tony Award!

Love the plays, the fact they are resident actors who have been there for a while. They are able to play all kinds if interesting roles

The Alley is a long-standing key to the theater scene in Houston. It presents a combination of traditional plays and some new plays. As a repertory company, it has a good collection of house performers and brings in a modest number of national performers. With a planned renovation approaching, the physical facility should be brought up to modern standards. The... More

My husband and I saw Freud's Last Session here. We were delighted by the unique play and the wonderful performances. Be aware: if you're going into the theatre district on a Friday night, give yourself plenty of time. The traffic was horrible.

Our bi-annual trips to the Alley are for the Agatha Christie play (they put on a different one each summer) and A Christmas Carol. The Alley is a Houston treasure. My only complaint and it's a small one is that the balcony allows smoking. Ah well, we can't have everything.

It was a nice place in the theater district and I enjoyed it, but the acting wasn't what I had hoped. I would return for another show. Note if you plan to eat before the show anywhere near the theater make reservations well beforehand.

I like Alley Theater just didn't really enjoy the Santa Land Diaries. The actor was good, I just don't think the script was that funny. It also had a lot of gay overtones to it and I am really sick of the overflow of gay influence in everything now...it is so over done these days...enough already, we get it.

One-hour monologue about person employed as an elf at Macy's in New York. Often humorous but not up to Alley Theatre standards. Performed on smaller Neuhaus Stage. Convenient parking at Alley Theatre Garage. Note that tickets are non-refundable.

My husband, 13 year old daughter and myself went to the Alley Theatre on Saturday, Dec 6th, 2013 for the first time to see A Christmas Carol and I must say it was fantastic! We had never been to a live theatre performance before so wasn't sure what to expect. This show exceeded my expectations. Congrats to all the actors/actresses... More
