My daughter loves art and going to art shows. Last year the area high schools had some work that was displayed at this museum. We went on a event night for Steel Lounge Underground where they were playing live music and serving drinks. Now the first thing to note is this means there will be lots of college kids drinking...

The museum was free, but the stuff in there is not really what I would consider art. I dropped a donation in the box on my way in, and spent the rest of time there trying to figure out how I could get it back.

Saw a very well curated ad interesting exhibition of James Patterson, whose works I didn't know and another very interesting exhibition of Clifford Owens in the downstairs gallery. I was thoroughly impressed.

I took my five kids (7-17) to the Contemporary Arts Museum as part of our Houston museum tour trip. The current exhibit was Barkley Hendricks's "Birth of the Cool."
At first, we completely passed the entrance door; it's a bit tucked away simply because of the way the building is designed.
