Even if you don't see a performance here, it is definitely worth a stroll in to take in the history and atmosphere. The oldest dance hall in Texas. love it!
First visit, had a great time. Show and sound was great. Thing to note going, parking tough, portable restrooms, and cash only. Will go back to see another show for sure
We bought tickets because my son is such a Texas music aficionado. I knew it was a historic location, but I didn't know it hadn't been updated with air conditioning! I have MS so the heat is an issue for me. If I had known, I would have just bought tickets for him and his date and hung out somewhere... More
Unique dance hall and listening to music here brings back the ambiance of the place. So many musicians have been performing here. Gruene is a lovely town and the river bringing life.
We stopped in after dinner at The Gristmill and were glad we did! The place has lots of character and a great atmosphere. The history behind it was great as well. There was a nice crowd and a great band that played a mix of originals and country covers. We enjoyed the cold beers, watching the people dance and the... More
My husband was brought to tears to be standing in a location with so much history. We were there on a Thursday night that had free music that was very good and the place was swarming. Great party that was still family OK. I am glad we don't live closer tho, I would NEVER see my husband. He would be... More
Stopped by to check out this little gem. Wonderfully restored old Texas town.Lots of history. Walking distance to the river. Just watch your wallet. Shops are expensive. It it's a tourist hot spot after all.
Michael and I stopped in Gruene Hall after dinner at Gristmill. There was a Texas country band playing down home Texas music and people dancing and just enjoying themselves. It was very nice to sit and just listen, watch, and enjoy the atmosphere. There are screened in windows that stay open to let the breeze dance through and there is... More
Do yourself a favor and go visit Gruene Hall...I've been well over 25 times and it's still hands down one of my favorite spots to visit when we're working our way through the hill country...the history of the place is unreal, and the beer is always cold
I love the historical significance of the little Texas dance hall. I also love that it still hosts dances on a regular basis. I hear that on weekends it fills up with UT students and rednecks for a cranking good time. I was there when it was empty. You could almost feel the excitement, even though the town was dead... More
