Americana at it's best!

Great history, awesome venue. Spent two evenings there this week. Loved it! The music was good on one night and great on the other. Plan on visiting again wen we are in Gruene.

We attended the Loretta Lynn concert there and really enjoyed the show. However, the aggravation preceeding the concert was beyond comprehenaion, especially with the amount of concerts given there. There is no reason to be so disorganized, nor so not give a damn about how much they lack in giving a damn if things run smoothly. You know there is... More

It would be so easy for this iconic Texas Dance Hall to modernize and be the tourist trap. Thank God they have not. Screen doors, plank communal tables , cold beer, hot music, the best of everything Texas Hill Country. Don't miss it. Just relax, people watch and enjoy. Family friendly.

Gruene is a pretty little town, and Gruene Hall is a great place to see a true Texas landmark. I have visited the area several times and always enjoy stopping here.

The Gruene Hall was great. Old wooden bar and floors and a dance hall that has hosted many famous country western legends. It is a place worth seeing and a great place to enjoy a cold Shiner Bock on a picnic bench outside.

Traveled into Austin to spend a weekend with my cousin, a longtime Austin resident who knows the ropes inAustin. Sunday we drove down to Gruene Hall to hear Bob Livingstand see the place ....the longest running dance hall in the state of Texas. Think it has been open since d1879. Very nice place Bob Livingston was fabulous. Very large shopping... More

I was not willing to pay the cover for a singer that I had never heard of that evening, so I went to hear the "free" (for the price of a beer) band in the afternoon. Saw the last set before they packed up to head for an evening gig in Houston (2-1/2 hours away). Pretty good, and they even... More

One of my favorite stops in the area! It was a great night last night. Band was loud and played well. Drinks were cold. Our bartender was so nice! Will return soon!

We have been to gruene hall many times and love having a beer there and just soaking in the history. But this time we went on a Thursday late in the afternoon- about 5:00. There was a band playing, not on the stage, but in the dance hall by the bar. The band had about 7 pieces and was great!... More
