This is probably not a fair estimate of this lake since the water level was so low. However, the gate staff were grumpy and unfriendly, and our area we settled in was full of trash and was filthy. Had the lake level been up, this might have been a nicer stay, but the people would probably still be grumpy.

Please come visit & help with restoring a great, family area. Grapevine Lake area is full of wonderful, family parks, recreational activities & walking trails. We are cleaning up post floods & anxious to return these beautifully, maintained areas to normal. We have missed you!

Drove out here to see the extent of the flooding/highwater that covered the place and put the parks and boat ramps off limits for a time. Many are still not operational, but the water is down from the spillway and we were able to drive past many of the previously closed areas. There were boats out on the lake, but... More

Probably the worst lake in the DFW Area. Unless you are very close to this lake, there are way better options. I imagine it is because it is very shallow, but it is the dirtiest of all the metroplex lakes. The only shining star is that the Texan is on the shores, but no restaurants, and few marinas and fuel... More

As a person from a land with 100 thousand lakes, this lake looks a little pitiful. There is a bicycle path around it, and some nice barbeque places, but the nature is nothing special (as you can see in the picture). Never went with boat to the lake since it really looks more like a dam. If visiting Grapevine, skip... More

We stayed at the Gaylord Resort and saw this boat rental place across the bridge. The lake had flooded (we were there Early August 2015) so many of the parks were under water. Because of this, we were instructed to be at least 5 football fields away from the shore. The water was OK. It's Texas, not exactly the Bahamas.... More

Great location right in Meadowmere Park. Good price for kayak rentals and easy access to lake. A nice activity for us all.

Great Lake for relaxed boating, particularly during the week when it is not that crowded. Silver Lake Marina is a good launching point. Gaylord Texan Resort is next door....Friday night fireworks during the Summer.

Before the record rains in May and June the lake was so low only a couple of boat ramps were open. Today the lake levels are so high none are open. Check in advance.
