We've been to the blue hole on multiple trips and its a blast! Bring nets for the kids because there's tons of fish that come right up next to you! There's also multiple levels of cliffs that many people including ourselves were jumping off of! Parking can be difficult but we haven't had a problem, we usually pull up right... More

There is a well kept walking/bicycle track above the river bank of the San Gabriel River in Georgetown, Texas, that can be taken for a number of miles. Wildliffe abounds and for the avid twitcher there are plenty of birds to find. There are benches along the way and play equipment for children near the fork of the river. Kayaking... More

Was pleasantly surprised when I took my teenage daughters for a walk along the river. Even though the summer temps are so unbearable the river was a beautiful place to swim, wade, fish and eat. There's plenty of shade when you need it and plenty of places to explore the nature.

It is a lovely river to enjoy at blue hole or at the parks. The fishing and swimming is good. We have seen some large fish caught.

There's pretty much no limit to the San Gabriel River in Georgetown. The trail runs along the river through town so you can walk for miles and miles if you want. You can easily get over to the Square for shopping or a bite to eat. You can swim at Blue Hole. You can go fishing further down. Playgrounds for... More

This park is a piece of the Norman Rockwell city of Georgetown, Texas! Not far from the exceptional town square of the town but far enough to have to drive. Families and kids of all ages wade in the river and enjoy the picnic grounds. Wonderful place to commute with nature, see the ducks and enjoy life at a pace... More

Beautiful natural setting. High water levels make for some nice falls. It is disgusting how people trash out such an otherwise pristine setting. Shame on them.

The San Gabriel River runs through the town of Georgetown and the San Gabriel Park which is a lovely little town natural park. It has playscapes for children and lots of running paths and space to enjoy walking and wondering around.

The San Gabriel River is a great spot for families to go on walks, have picnics, there are a couple parks nearby, and you can feed the ducks! When we are looking for something free to do outdoors this is a great spot where we can spend the whole afternoon.

The San Gabriel also has a North and South Tributary. These flow in various locations in the city that have easy and public access. Most people are more familiar with the parts located closer to the central or downtown areas. There are other locations along the river with nice park like areas and plenty of room for families to get... More
