I took my daughter, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter to see The Nutcracker at the Grand Opera House last December! What a lovely venue for this kind of production. The Opera House is a historically significant part of Galveston. The venue is small enough that each seat has a great view of the stage. The acoustics in the theater are wonderful, so... More

My daughter participated in a children's program here and we also watched The Addams Family here. Both were stunning simply because of the venue! It's gorgeous, the acoustics are great, and the volunteer ushers are just wonderful. I'm very proud to be a part of this community for reasons such as this historical building and the people who maintain it.

The Opera House is a gem of a venue restored to its opulence of 1894. All the best entertainers in the country appear there. Don't miss it if you have a chance to go.

This is a beautiful old Opera House. The tour is self guided. My family enjoyed visiting the Opera House while on vacation.

After reading all the reviews, I was excited to go to the Opera House. I was not impressed. We were in and out in 10". I quess I was expecting more ornate.

Third time to see Lyle Lovett at the Grand. What a great evening! Acoustics in this old theater are phenomenal and every seat has a great view of the stage. Hard to believe that 5 years ago the theater was flooded, incurring major damage due to Ike. Maureen Patton and staff did an incredible job to restore this jewel in... More

For several years, I've bought the subscription for 4 of the events each year. Usually there are more than 4 events I'd like to see, but I do have to watch my pocketbook. The Grand is so convenient. Living in Friendswood, it's much easier to drive to Galveston than into the Houston downtown area. My husband and I have seen... More

We were thrilled to see Ghost Riders in the Sky here. Their performance just happened to coincide with our trip. We had the "slightly obstructed seats" but didn't notice a problem at all. Acoustics were great, the decor is amazing, bathrooms really clean and spacious. I highly recommend including a show at this great historic theater next time you are... More
