Specially constructed for intimate theater experiences, every seat is a winner. This beautifully restored building stands as magically on its own, as it is enhanced when seeing your favorite blues legend, or homegrown Red Headed Balladeer. The ushers and counter help, are all local volunteers, and super friendly and helpful. The libations are affordably priced, even when you splurge for... More

We have enjoyed many entertainers there but those seats! After Ike they have pads (thank you), but your knees hit the back of the seat in front of you. Impossible to cross your legs. People going nuts all over the place trying to get comfortable. Men of stature might as well SRO. There are only a few areas to be... More

We have been going to The Grand 1894 Opera House going on 4 years and have never been disappointed. The building itself is gorgeous. The plays, concerts are amazing. Just saw Budd Holly last night it was definitely something not to be missed.

This was the first time I got to see the Texas Tenors and fell in love with them at that moment. And there could have not been a better place to see them than at the Grand 1894, not a bad seat in the house! Can't wait to go back to see the Texas Tenors again when they come back!

I took my daughter, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter to see The Nutcracker at the Grand Opera House last December! What a lovely venue for this kind of production. The Opera House is a historically significant part of Galveston. The venue is small enough that each seat has a great view of the stage. The acoustics in the theater are wonderful, so... More

My daughter participated in a children's program here and we also watched The Addams Family here. Both were stunning simply because of the venue! It's gorgeous, the acoustics are great, and the volunteer ushers are just wonderful. I'm very proud to be a part of this community for reasons such as this historical building and the people who maintain it.

The Opera House is a gem of a venue restored to its opulence of 1894. All the best entertainers in the country appear there. Don't miss it if you have a chance to go.
