Feel as if you were in the 1800's. Beautiful. Always have great shows, a lot of variety. My favorite seats are on the second level, the mezzanine. More

This is a small venue, and an ideal location to take my grandchildren as all the seats are good. More

We took the self guided tour of this wonderful restoration - a beautiful theatre - wish there might have been a performance. More

I love going here. It is small enough so everyone seems to have a great seat and it is nice to be able to actually SEE what is going on, on the stage without binoculars. More

We live in Houston and have been supporters of the Grand 1894 Opera House for many years. It is a beautiful old theater which still has all the charm of when it was new. Extensive renovations were done after the flood from Hurricane Ike, and it is better than ever. Intimate setting for many big name acts. More

I like the beautiful restored interior, and enjoy watching events there, although in some seats, the acoustics are not as good as others, and it's hard to hear. Still, it's worth the trip, especially if you combine it with a dinner at one of Galveston's many good restaurants. More

The only thing missing is the long dresses and long golves of the attendees. Definitely a step back in time for an intimate site to enjoy whoever is the main attraction of the season's offerings. More

What a wonderful place to go in Galveston. It is one of the oldest stage or concert halls that I know of any where. All original and cleaned up nicely after Hurricane Ike. Some pretty good names have been playing there, Ronnie Milsap, Willie Nelson, etc. The only thing is to get a seat in front of the poles that... More

Antique, intimate, and personal. You could not get closer to the action unless you are a stage hand. Keep in mind this venue is as stated built in 1894. Yes it has been renovated (actually completely redone after hurricane Ike) but they have kept the integrity and the feel of the original theater. That translates to very little leg room... More

I've seen a couple of production at the Opera House and toured as well. It is a beautiful venue that should be explored by anyone interested in the performing arts. More
