The steps up to the main floor were numerous and the majority of guests were in their 60's, 70's+. It was like waiting for a fall everywhere you look. Designed for a younger crowd and needs more bathrooms, more steps, either up or way down in the sub level, which appears to have water damage. I guess thats expected. Clean... More

I've lived in Galveston since I was 4. For school we would always go watch productions at the Grand and when I was younger I actually performed on that stage a few times. The building and the architecture that went into is absolutely amazing and they make absolutely sure every is kept up. Even if there is not a show... More

The Grand 1894 Opera House is a beautiful and historical venue. Since it's not a very large theater, performances are intimate. The one drawback is the restroom situation. There don't seem to be enough, and they are situated in the basement or on the top level. It's tough for orchestra ticket holders to get to the restroom before a long... More

Saw Dr John/Aaron Neville, super show, perfect venue for these acts. Seating is a little tight but it is an old Opera House, totally restored and very beautiful.

The show was fabulous and made the trip complete. The Grand is just what you'd expect with such a name. Staff there was helpful and friendly.

The building itself is a work of art, a performance. If you can catch a show here, do it. Arrive early so you will have time to look around and appreciate the beauty and architecture.

Not much from the outside, but once inside, this place is gorgeous! A must-see attraction well worth the $2 admission price!

I love the 1894 Grand Opera House. They have great shows and the building is just gorgeous! You can also take a tour when there are not performances and to see it when you just want to stop in is great.

Sat in the orchestra, but we kept looking around and enjoying the ambiance of late 19th century decor. The Opera House is small enough so it seems every seat is very close to the stage. We saw The Texas Tenors and the concert was wonderful. Sound effects were perfect, we heard every note without a problem. Bathroom lines are typically... More
