Go spend a weekend and see for yourself. Beautiful historical homes with well manicured lawns some properties have little history postings. Many have water leval markings from past hurricanes. Beach is beautiful there is public beach very clean Day parkings at price available at the beach. Lots of places to eat and many hotels right near the seawall.

Galveston is very beautiful...all the scenic shops and buildings downtown...the trolley tracks running through town...the very beautiful old, old homes around town...the old against the backdrop of the new...the sea wall...the refreshing sea air...just awesome. I did however get a feeling of being unsafe in the respect that this town is in the direct line of hurricanes...Rita pulled a real... More

We always enjoy taking a tour that gives us an overview of a city, this was one of the better ones. Small group, very comfortable ride, shady, small open air vehicle that made for a close up view of whatever we saw. The tour guide was excellent, very informative. Loved seeing all the wood sculptures.

I saw this tour on Groupon. I decided for the price I would pay the regular price rather than getting the Groupon. My husband and two adult age children went on the tour and thoroughly enjoyed it. He spoke clearly and loudly enough that we caught everything he said. Good information on the history of the area. He took us... More

This was one of the best tours I've been on, and I've been on A LOT of tours. The tram had the advantages of a walking tour - close up views, easy to see in all directions, slow pace in interesting areas, and easy communication with the guide. But, it had the advantages of a ride, too - relaxing in... More

Four of us girl friends went to Galveston for a fun weekend and to explore the island. We decided to take the tram tour offered by Galveston Island Historic Tours and boarded the tram at the Galveston Visitors Center at Aston Villa. Our tour guide Joseph was very knowledgeable of the history of the island and pointed out many historic... More

As a native Houstonian I have been going to Galveston forever. This time I decided to go as a tourist. This was an inexpensive tour and the young man who gave the tour was packed with information. Me and my grandkids enjoyed it a lot.

My two children and I took the tour which lasted about an hour. Joseph was friendly but monotonish. It was interesting to hear about the area and see the tree carvings. It was worth the money and we learned a lot on our first day and first ever visit to Galveston.

This was a golf-cart pulling us along, and it had a cover to provide shade. Could’ve used cup holders, as I had to use my feet to keep hanging on to my water bottle. The tour zig-zagged all over the downtown area, from the historic “Strand” district, to the eastern end (which was a bit less affluent). Most of the... More

We wanted to see the tree carvings , this was the easiest and most informative trip. Information on the founding families, their homes and the old building in town was just a surprising plus.
