The pier was nice and offered a beautiful view of seawall blvd and the beach. It was nice to sit on the pier, with a beer, and enjoy the ocean view! Tito was super friendly and helpful in answering our questions, since it was our first time in Galveston.

We had a bad experience at the other pier and came back to this one. We had been before so we walked right in, rented some rods, and got to fishing. The staff was as friendly as ever and everyone was having a great time! My grand-kids caught some small fish, and they loved it! Someone near us caught a... More

Recently moved to the Island... Regularly seeking sancturary from the everyday tourist attractions , hustle of traffic, resturaunts, bars and the ever present sand in every known bodily nook and cranny. The 61st Pier has become this place of refuge of wholesome goodness and simple fun. Fishing; one of the last REAL and honest pastimes-here at the Pier, you get... More

We had an excellent experience at 61st St Fishing Pier. Street meter parking was very easy. There was only one person working, so we had to be patient, but once we had our rods and bait it was mere minutes before we caught our first fish. Fellow fishers were kind enough to help us with taking the fish off the... More

Good place to just sit on the 3rd. deck especially at night and just observe the lights on Pleasure Pier Amusement Park and listen to the surf

The beach is filthy and stinks right there. People at this pier are extremely rude and unfriendly. It is run down inside.

I went fishing last week and had a wonderful time. The sand trout were biting good and James was so helpful and polite. He really knows what he's doing. He showed me how to catch the sand trout apparently they have a soft mouth and I was yanking to hard. After he showed me I caught fish all night long... More
